    Análisis de la ciudad de Cuenca en el contexto de “Ciudad Inteligente”

    There are certain criteria to categorize cities as smart cities, in this context this study aimed to analyze whether the city of Cuenca has the necessary attributes to be formally recognized as a smart city. The research was conducted using a mixed approach, combining quantitative and qualitative elements. Numerical and statistical data were collected, additionally interviews were carried out with municipal authorities to obtain information on the attributes available to the Basin and their correlation with those of a smart city. The Deloitte Methodology adapted for the evaluation of Smart Cities in Latin America and the Caribbean was used. Six dimensions were analyzed: Environment, Mobility, Lifestyle, Economy, Security and Education, using a total of 52 indicators. The levels of compliance for each of the dimensions in Cuenca were: Environment (4.23), Mobility (4.19), Lifestyle (4.08), Economy (4.22), Safety (4.42) and Education (4.50). These results position Cuenca as a city with a high level of maturity in terms of urban intelligence. The study has shown that Cuenca has the necessary attributes to be considered a smart city. The guidelines and criteria identified in contemporary literature support this statement. The methodology used has made it possible to comprehensively evaluate the key dimensions of a smart city, and the results obtained reinforce Cuenca's position in this regard. With a score of 4.27 out of 5, the city is at a comprehensive maturity level.
