Item Conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas sobre prevención de cáncer de cuello uterino en mujeres que acuden a la consulta externa del área de ginecología el Hospital San Vicente de Paul, Pasaje, El Oro, 2023(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-03-19) Chica Heredia, Karla Winny; Mejía Chicaiza, Jorge VictorianoIntroduction: Lack of knowledge and awareness of cervical cancer is one of the elements that facilitates its development in women. Knowledge and practices are essential for health promotion and disease prevention and management of this particular disease. Objective: To determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and practices regarding cervical cancer in patients aged 20 to 50 years, who attend the gynecology outpatient services at San Vicente de Paul Hospital. Methodology: This is a descriptive study, with a sample of 110 women who took the CAPS test at the outpatient area of the San Vicente de Paul Hospital in the city of Pasaje. Frequency and percentage tables were made to create sociodemographic, knowledge, attitude and practice variables. Women who gave their consent to be part of the study were included. Results: A total of 110 women with an average age of 34.42 8.54 were studied. At the secondary level of 54 per cent, single women accounted for 45 per cent. In the study group, a knowledge level of 60.45% was found, favorable attitudes corresponded to 76.36% and positive practices were 64.90%. Conclusions: The population consisted mainly of young women of secondary education and single women. In terms of knowledge, attitudes and practices, the former was predominantly moderate, favourable attitudes were high and levels of good practice were relatively high
