    Frecuencia de trastornos del habla en niños de 3 a 7 años del Centro Ideas. Cuenca. 2020

    Background: speech disorders represent one of the most frequent reasons for appointments, mainly in childhood. It has a direct impact on the social and educational development of those who suffer from it, which is the reason that concern for parents and health professionals. It is a typical process that children go through during their development and becomes pathological when the simplification processes of adult speech are kept, which is how often these disorders occur, allows us to make predictions regarding the severity of speech intelligibility. The abnormal establishment of the communicative pattern and communicative functionality, therefore the present study aims to know the frequency in which they occur and the factors that follows it. Objectives: To determine the frequency of speech disorders in children from 3 to 7 years who attended at the Ideas Center in 2020. Method: a descriptive study was carried out with 100 speech-language pathology records of users aged 3 to 7 years who attended the IDEAS center in 2020. The information was selected, collected and tabulated through the evaluation version of the ESPS. Descriptive statistics were used: media, standard deviation, frequencies and percentages. The results were presented in simple tables and contingency tables. Results: Children between 4 years - 4 years and 11 months with preschool education were the ones who represented the majority of the population. It was possible to identify alterations in the characteristics of speech. The specific pronunciation disorder was the most prevalent Speech disorder. No statistically significant relationship was found between the frequency of speech disorders with gender, age and educational level. Conclusions: consistent data with previous studies regarding age, sex and education are identified. The speech disorders presented in greater frequency was determined. No relationships are observed between the frequency of speech disorders with sex, age and education.
