Anxiety is a response mechanism that influences physiological and cognitive levels, it can facilitate adaptation, as well as cause an imbalance between thoughts and actions. For its part, the locus of control is the expectation of control that an individual believes to have over certain events, where success or failure depends on their own attributes, or on external factors. For college students, advancing their higher education process and levels of preprofessional internships implies lifestyle changes and greater commitment to increased responsibilities. The objective of the present study was to describe the type of predominant locus of control and the most frequent anxiety levels in the students of the Clinical, Social and Educational Psychology careers of the Faculty of Psychology of the University of Cuenca according to the different levels of pre-professional practices. The research presented a quantitative approach with a descriptive scope. The participants were 192 students from first to fourth level. The results indicate that the most frequent level of anxiety in levels I, II, III and IV were severe, moderate, minimal and moderate respectively, with a predominant internal locus of control in the first three levels and external in the last. In conclusion, it can be seen that anxiety increases or decreases according to the level of practice and a large percentage of people attribute the success or failure of their results to their own characteristics and behaviors
