We performed a cross-sectional study with speech therapy, by applying the Reduced Joint Test and the Test of Oral Peripheral Mechanism in 281 school children "Hernan Crespo Cordero." After applying the test of the 10.67% children had dislalia, the 89.33% had no functional dislalia. The average age of the children was 6.20 with a standard deviation of + -0.70%. Speech therapy was applied to 30 children, with the following results: dislalia decreased in 70%. Children 5 years were those most difficult to beat intervention: 85.71% exceeded the rotacismo, 50.0% exceeded sigmatismo the landacismo 66.66%, 100% passed yeismo. In children 6 years of 60.0% exceeded the rotacismo; the sigmatismo 100% and 50.0% with landacismo overcame their joint problem. With regard to children of 7 years 50.0% exceeded the rotacismo, 100% the sigmatismo, the landacismo 66.66%.

This work was performed using the method prospective descriptive speech therapy, aimed at evaluating and intervening in speech disorders (dyslalia, stuttering, diglossia and dysarthria) through the joint test and oral peripheral mechanism, applied to the girls school" Josefina Torres Dolores", the universe consisted of693girls, 73.9% of girls belonged to the urban area, the average age was 8.3witha standard deviation of+-1.7%. After applying the test for 7.4% of the population showed dyslalia, 1.5% diglossia and no instances of stuttering and dysarthria, dyslalia was more frequent in urban areas(5.3%), while the diglossia in rural areas(1%). The dyslalia occurs most often between the agesof6-11years (6.9%) and diglossia between 6and 7years (1.3%). Within diglossia, 1.3% of girls had dental diglossia. After speech therapy intervention to the 62 girls, the following results were obtained: The dyslalia decreased from 82.3% to 8.1%, and 17.7% diglossia to 8.1%. The sigmatis mode creased 58.1% to 3.2%, and the alteration deltacismodiph thong was overcome completely. The diglossia palatal, velar and labial not exceeded in the lingual girls completely overcame the problem and dental diglossia decreased from14.5%to 6.5%. The speech therapy is an important tool through its application decreased speech disorders in girls. The current work has been done by using the descriptive-prospective method, with speech therapy intervention, whose objective was to evaluate and intervene through speech therapy the speech disorders (dyslalia, disfemia, diglossia, and dysarthria) through screening (revision of words previously mentioned) in children (boys and girls) of “Honorato Vásquez” public elementary school from kindergarten until the fourth level of basic education with the help of the application of articulation tests, the evaluation of disfemia, and oral peripheral mechanism. The sample was collected taking into consideration 197 boys and girls. The 15.3% of the children evaluated presented speech disorders, divided into the 14.21% who presented dislalia, and the 1.02% presented disfemia. There was no presence of diglossia or dysarthria. According to gender, 16.82% of boys presented dislalia, contrary to the 12% of girls who presented this disorder. Concerning disfemia, the 1.76% represents boys; however, the 0% of the girls presented this problem. The most frequent ages in which dislalia was shown was between 4-5 years, representing a 56.62%. Disfemia was mostly found in 8-year-old kids (5%). After the speech therapy intervention and the post evaluation of boys and girls, the 8.12% overcame their speech disorder, while the 7.1% could overcame their dislalia. The disfemia cases at 0.51% overcome her disorder. The protocol of thesis "Evaluation and speech therapy the Simple Delay in language development in children from 2-4 years of age in children's centers of Good Living Direct Care MIES-INFA" is a prospective study with intervention speech therapy, which aims to assess and intervene simple delays language development in children from children's Centres mentioned, this study has three phases: the first phase will determine the frequency of simple language delays by applying the Zimmerman test, the second phase will proceed with the speech therapy and the last stage will include a reassessment of the same test Zimmerman. The universe is made up of 112 children and conform shows all child 2-4 years (age group where the prevalence of this disease is higher) diagnosed to simple delay in language development. Each subject of study will be subjected to twice weekly intervention with a period of forty minutes each session for a period of four months, four months past reassessing. To tabulate the results will be used Microsoft Excel 2010 database, the results are presented in tables and graphs, and the statistical analysis used the central tendency and dispersion. Factores de riesgo asociados a la aparición de disfonía funcional en docentes del cantón Cuenca

Background: In Ecuador there is little research done on the human voice, however there is a study of teachers in the city of Logrono province of Morona Santiago, which showed that 4.8% of teachers were diagnosed with functional dysphonia, having as main risk factors the existence of a greater number of students per class, more weekly working hours, large classrooms and higher noise levels. Objective: Describe the risk factors related to the emergence of functional dysphonia in teachers in public and private educational units of the canton Cuenca, July 2016 - January 2017. Methodology: This was a descriptive study of cross section, whose finite universe consisted of 1020 teachers North District urban area of Canton Cuenca, corresponding to the database of the Ministry of Education. The sampling unit corresponds to 280 teachers from public and private units. For data collection a survey of 27 multiple choice questions was applied with a runtime of 10 to about 15 minutes, the results and the final data were analyzed in SPSS version 15 software. Results: The results were used to describe the risk factors to which they are exposed teachers to acquire functional dysphonia where, 7.1% of teachers do not have any risk factor, 82.9% would be related to risk factors. And only, 10% can assert that actually have risk factors to teach
