    Pruebas básicas de laboratorio clínico en niños de 6 - 8 años de la escuela Miguel Ángel Estrella del área de influencia del centro de salud No 2 de la ciudad de Cuenca, 2011

    Were performed tests basic of clinical laboratory on 160 children from 6 to 8 years old, of different size and weight, the attending to the Miguel Ángel Estrella school, belonging to the catchment area of the Health Center № 2 of the city of Cuenca, in order to help improve their quality of life. It is a descriptive observational study with a sample of a rating list, the average size is 121-140 cm of the school children and weighing 15-35 kg were counted with the consent and informed assent. The samples were processed in the Clinical Laboratory Diagnostic Center, Faculty of Medical Sciences, University of Cuenca and the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital; following biosafety standard and performing quality control to ensure the reliability of these results were as follows: The average of hematocrit is 42,5%; of hemoglobin is 14,3 g/dl; of white blood cell is 6.538,6 x mm3; of red blood cell is 5.175,6 million x mm3; the platelet count is 351.237,5 x mm3 and the glucose 79,9 mg/dl; 70,0% of school children have ASTO values below 200 IU/ml in the urine test: hematuria in the 1,9%, the 23,8% of leukocytes, the 100% with nitrites negative and the 100% with bacteria absent. Intestinal parasitism in the 28,7%, the most important: Ameba histolytica cyst the 8,8%, Giardia lamblia cyst the 5,6%; Ameba coli cyst the 5,0% and the 5,0% of Enteromonas hominis.
