    Factores de riesgo y de pronóstico de linfoma no Hodgkin de células B, en pacientes mayores a 15 años, Instituto del Cáncer, Solca-Cuenca, enero de 2006 a diciembre de 2010

    Background: The cancer has become a global public health problem; include complex clinical manifestations, high mortalityand a variety of risk factors related to the environment and the individual characteristics.Objective: Establishing risk factors, stage, histologic subtype, and International Prognostic Index in patients diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma B cells more than 15 years at the Institute of Cancer Solca-Cuenca, during January 2006 to December 2010Methods: We did a descriptive in patients diagnosed with non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL), the data were transcribed from the medical records, and using the software SPSS. Main Results: The frequency of non-Hodgkin lymphoma in patients older than 64 years was 43.6%, whereas in patients 16 to 19 years was 2%. The frequency of males and females was 50%. 54% of the population had a performance status 0 according EGOG. The 42.6% were in clinical stage II and 35.1% presented the International Prognostic Index (IPI) low. The large cell diffuse lymphoma accounted for 69.3%. Exposure to chemotherapy (3%), radiation (1%), chemotherapy / radiation therapy (1.5%), benzene (0.5%), H Pylori (6.4%), hepatitis B (1.5%), hepatitis C (0.5%), history of immunosuppression for transplant treatments (1%), autoimmune diseases (1%). Conclusions: The NHL was presented in patients older than 65 years more frequently 43.6% and 35.1% of the population presented an International Prognostic Index (IPI) low. The frequency of risk factors is low. The predominant histologic subtype was diffuse large cell lymphoma being the most common node localization
