Technological advances have taken giant leaps and have been involved in every aspect of daily life. Multimediality, transmediality and interactivity are characteristics of Web 2.0 that break the unidirectional line of traditional communication, being one of the new challenges for journalists, media and network users. In this sense, the use of virtual spaces that the Internet has provided for the creation of communities of interpretation and re-appropriation allow the development of this work called "Development of a transmedia project about the life of Ecuadorian migrants living in New York, United States" whose purpose is to make known some of the thousands of migrants' life stories and disseminate them in order to raise awareness about this social phenomenon that is latent in the country. The testimonials are presented through a transmedia storytelling, which is a technique that appeals to the convergence of media and the use of different platforms in order to take advantage of all their potential and that are gathered on a website. This work aims to be a sample in the way of working on migration from another communicational angle and, at the same time, to demonstrate other ways of presenting information as journalists.
