    Conocimiento materno sobre alimentación, nutrición y su relación con el estado nutricional de niños(as) menores de dos años que acuden al Subcentro de Salud de San Pedro del Cebollar durante mayo-julio 2013

    Objective: To determine maternal knowledge on food and nutrition and its relationship to the nutritional status of children under 2 years attending health sub-center San Pedro del Cebollar during May, June and July 2013. Material and methods: The research is descriptive study, were are working with a sample of 74 mothers was obtained of the universe consists of 280 mothers of children under 2 years q attended the health sub-center of San Pedro during May June and July 2012. Research techniques were; review of the clinical history to obtain the nutritional status of children under 2 years the interview to assess the level of knowledge mother and the data were processed and analyzed using Word and Excel. To ensure the ethical aspects of applied research informed consent of. Results: 50% of children are underweight and 1% overweight, are related to the lack of maternal knowledge about nutrition, food and the deterioration of the socioeconomic status of best quality. Conclusions: There is a direct relationship between the degree of maternal knowledge, socioeconomic status and nutritional status which confirms the theoretical basis that the nutritional status is an indicator of equity and shows the level of access to basic consumer goods Keywords: MATERNAL KNOWLEDGE, FOOD, NUTRITION, NUTRITIONAL STATUS.
