    Automatización de herramientas informáticas para el diseño de sistemas de alcantarillado

    Conventional sewer systems are the most used solution for wastewater and runoffcollection and transport at medium and large cities. However, the calculation, graphic representation and budget estimation demand a vast amount of resources and time. The objective of this study is to integrate universal computer tools like Microsoft Excel® and AutoCAD® to automatize the calculation and to create automatically graphic representation and budget estimation of sewerage projects, in order to give to the designer more attention to the technical analysis, and configuration of the pipe network rather than spend time in iterative calculations. The proposed tools has been developed in the software’s basic environment through its own programming languages, such as Visual Basic® and AutoLISP® respectively, achieving the integration of mathematical calculation, graphic representation and budget estimation in one tool. This tool could be used at educative environments by students and teachers and alsoin professional environments by public and private engineers, as an economic option to corporate commercial tools. In conclusion, this tool intends to give an alternative to corporate commercial tools without losing analytic accuracy in the calculation, and fine graphic representation and budget estimation. The use of common tools in its development also offers to future users of this tool the possibility to incorporate updates and personalization based on future research and needs.
