    This work entitled “Implementación de un Departamento de Relaciones Públicas en el GAD de La Asunción” arises from the need for a solution to the serious deficiencies in communication and information processes GAD parroquial de La Asunción, which are contributing to the population living in the area are not informed about the activities of the entity, or community leaders to take part in the decisions made within the GAD. For this reason, this study raises main objective is to implement a public relations department that contributes to the improvement of the institutional image and internal and external communication of the GAD de la Asunción, to be implemented in 2016. To fulfill objective information gathering techniques such as surveys, interviews, observation sheet and literature review, which allowed us to obtain the main conclusion of the study that most of the population of the parroquia La Asunción are uninformed about the activities of the parroquia and, likewise, agree on the urgency of implementing a Public Relations Department.
