    Sistema de telemedicina en gastroenterología

    The present work, describes the implementation and design of a telemedicine system for gastroenterological studies and medical record storing. We decided to name it SAPHIENS. It is made of: Hardware, responsible of the image and video acquisition from an endoscopic system; called the man-machine interface. Software, for patient data management and visualization. The first chapter, gives a small introduction about medicine, more specifically the digestive system, analyzing the incorporation of the telecommunications in the medicine. The assembly and design of the man machine interface is detailed in chapter number two, while chapter number three describes the implementation and design of the system software and database. The tools that were used in the development of this system are detailed in the chapter number four. Finally, we specify the conclusions and results obtained with SAPHIENS system.
