    In order to know about stimulating the reading habit in children in the home is to be carried out research entitled "Stimulation of the habit of reading by parents in children's initial level", the same as developed in the city of Cuenca-Ecuador. This research is located in the qualitative-descriptive and met in order to know the strategies and materials that parents used to promote the reading habit in children four years and for developing survey technique was used that was applied to 24 parents of school chosen for that purpose. The information collected found that in most homes respondents if material to promote children's reading strategy being most parents use storytelling to children and the assessment of interest in the reader habit of infants, noting that parents would like to meet other strategies to develop such purpose.
