This investigation permitted us to identify the risk and protection factors of the community of Uzhar belonging to the parish of San Juan del CID of the Gualaceo county, through the community diagnosis from the perspective of Social Work, with the finality of promoting an active involvement of the GAD Parroquial. In this context, the object of study were 55 families of the community, and in turn 84 residents; allowing in this way to have a family and community perspective regarding the reality of the intervention area. For the fulfillment of the proposed objectives, the Community Organization and Development Method was applied, in which the five moments proposed by the authors Roselló and Lillo for the community diagnosis were used. Likewise, techniques such as community diagnosis were applied through a questionnaire and the SWOT technique in community assemblies and home visits. The participation of people in different age and sex groups was motivated, who were the main actors and contributed to the development of the research, thus considering the intergenerational and gender approaches. After the analysis of the results, two risk factors were identified: the construction of a sanitary sewerage system and violence against women, intrafamilial, addictions; and the need for recreational spaces.
