(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-05-16) Arias Illescas, Carlos Alfredo; Mejía Hurtado, Pablo Vicente; Peña Fernández, Juan Daniel; Novillo Mora, Angel Gustavo
The present degree work has the mission of rescuing and taking advantage of the cultural, iconographic, and mythological wealth of a great civilization which is considered one of the most important in history, as it is the case of the Inca culture, that settled in a large part of the territory that today is known as South America. This work is seeking to exploit all kinds of features that mentioned culture possessed, such as: clothing, beliefs, religion, and art as a basis to create a board game. Besides being entertaining and creating a playful space, this board game can provide and transmit information about this interesting aboriginal settlement. Taking as reference the material we can currently find in the market, we can observe the influence of ancient cultures to create all kinds of recreational and artistic products, such as movies, video games, comics, etc. Through the development of this illustrated board game, traditional and digital techniques that encompass the art world will be studied and used to create and develop this playful-artistic material that can get the attention of the public in general. Therefore, we will be sharing ancestral knowledge and taking it to the field of entertainment, which has been little explored subject in our environment. At the same time, we will try to position the history and ancestral knowledge within the general culture of our present days, avoiding it to get lost in oblivion.
