In the retail sector, inventory allocation implies a dynamic challenge since it is necessary to adopt policies that consider the market fluctuating demand and the consumer behavior variability, depending on their geographical location. An inappropriate inventory distribution directly transcends sales levels, the cost of maintaining high inventory levels, and the transfer logistics cost of between stores due to the incomplete availability of products. In this research work an algorithmic model that calculates the best assortment for each store of a retail company in the motorcycle sector is developed. The proposed solution is based on prioritization methods and weighting of external and internal historical variables and marketing variables in order to obtain the ideal set of products. The model has been developed in Visual Basic programming language for its flexibility in variable parameterization combined with easy implementation and interactivity with databases. The results show that inventory turnover indicator increase significantly from the application of the model, which shows that a correct inventory allocation can increase the profits of the retailer. The strength of the proposed system is that it allows the parameterization of input variables according to the commercial needs of the retail owner; because one of the main limitations of the existing literature is that it neglects marketing rules and does not address the strategic importance of the product

Process management has gained popularity in organizations worldwide due to its ability to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Within this context, two key approaches have emerged: the Business Process Management (BPM) methodology and the ISO 9001:2015 management system. The main objective of this study is to carry out a comparative investigation between the two approaches in order to determine the order of priority and the degree of complementarity in the implementation of process management. To achieve this objective, an exclusive bibliometric analysis was carried out to segment and analyze the documents found, focusing on the most relevant variables for the research. Special attention was given to those articles that provided the greatest value in terms of contributions and findings. The results obtained revealed that both the ISO-BPM and BPM-ISO implementation sequences have presented significant benefits. However, considering the technological advancement and increasing automation, it is advisable to initially adopt a BPM approach. This is due to its wide scope and integration with technologies that significantly accelerate and maximize results. All this has allowed an efficient quality management in organizations that do not have the ISO 9001 system implemented. In relation to the degree of complementarity, it has been concluded that BPM becomes stronger as processes are digitized. Nowadays, processes require a more holistic and focused orientation in their management, and BPM is presented as a solution that provides that comprehensive perspective.

In all industries, it is important to apply effective process management focused on the fulfillment of goals and the satisfaction of needs exposed by the market. However, understanding its scope and limitations can be complex. The study aims to establish a standard, adaptable, and expressive tool for diagramming, improving its capacity in various industries. It focuses on the interaction with the main variables of a process: activities, managers and structure. Additionally, the study aims to impose a comparative analysis that answers the question of whether the BPMN is the best diagramming alternative compared to traditional graphic notations. The more important evaluation criteria are similarities, differences, the symbol library, diagramming software and types of processes as they are distinctive elements. Thus, the graphic notation selected as the best option will empower the organization towards maximizing benefits.

(2018) Merchán Cepeda, Pedro Gabriel; Arias Cisneros, James Marlon
The system dynamics and their systemic archetypes determine the correlations between different subsystems and decisions, showing the cycles that decisions give and the interrelationships between these cycles, and what directions or behaviors generate these interrelations with the objective of guide better sets of results in the studied systems. The archetype of the tragedy of the commons is manifested when the use of a shared resource is done individually by the actors who need it in order to obtain benefits from it without considering that in the future said resource will be depleted, decreasing rewards without regard for effort put into extracting the resource. Here capital is the common resource for the development of company's activities where, under an initial non-holistic decision, the system can generate increasing profits but with a decompensation in the subsystems, they decrease. The system is modeled and with the simulation data on Vensim it is demonstrated that the expected behavior according to the archetype is obtained and with the same data analyzed statistically from an individual and collective perspective on Minitab can generate an optimal configuration to avoid the presence of the tragedy of the commons and maximize the fulfillment of a set of objectives

(2015) Espinosa Iglesias, Anita Marcela; Arias Cisneros, James Marlon
The study is focused on the proposed system to improve the reception chain of raw material in the "Dairy San Antonio CA" plant located in the Industrial Park of Cuenca - Ecuador, this work is conducted in Microsoft Excel, using basic programming tools but focused on making decisions based on data obtained from the raw material reception. The system provides timely information data interpretation easier for the user, using visual tools such as signaling the values entered in the storage system based on a time study and a timetable of suppliers. The main idea of this proposal is to improve the reception of raw material from planning providers, the area's capacity for decision-making and continuous improvement in the area, you can get a better view of what is occurring along the receiving process to take immediate action in case of any problems. This thesis is divided into four chapters, the first talks about the general information of the company and as is made. The second shows the various activities carried out in the process of receiving raw material. The third chapter contains the development of the system for receiving raw material made in Excel, the same that is used as a simulator for planning the receipt of raw materials. The fourth and final chapter will find case studies of the system (reception problems) to the reception chain.

LTDA.
(2012) Altamirano Cárdenas, María Gabriela; Arias Cisneros, James Marlon
The thesis was conducted in Malima Plantations Co. Ltd. in the postharvest area, this involves the following stages: Classification in green, Opening Process, Classification in white, Packaging in Cold Rooms. Each stage involves a survey of processes in its different varieties of flowers that are processed. These belong to the family denominated Gypsophila and they are called Million Stars and Cassiopeia. The largest number of workers that postharvest demanded is in classification and post classification. Determining the number of people required and the necessary hours to accomplish the demand will depend on the volume of production and the variables involved that are: Grade Stem, Labor Day, the Learning Curve and Pest Problems. One of the most important variables is the learning curve which was obtained by determining the standard time in different degrees and taking into account the presence or absence of pests or diseases. It is performed by a comparison with timer and a study comparing the data with historical data and current learning curves used by the company. The variables obtained by analysis are related by matrices which bind them with production inputs, working hours, pest or disease. This relationship will give us an answer for taking decision about hand work. The software was made in Excel 2007.

One of the challenges for scheduling operations in a company is the customer orders sequence. Choosing a proper transfer batch policy improves significantly the tasks sequence. A production environment where the number of operators are less than the number of operations, generating rotation between stations, is considered. The sequence and a proper transfer batch size policy has a significant impact on the company’s resources, productivity and the operations performance. In this context, a simulation model of discrete events is proposed (DES) in FlexSim to measure the impact of applying different priority rules and transfer batch policies on a small and medium-sized business (SME), dedicated to the manufacture and restoration of GLP cylinders. For the case of study, there is a continuous flow and a unitary transmission of products inside the stations, simplifying the problem. Only the products are in order at the entrance of the stations and transfer batches are given at the output of the work cells. Statistical analysis showed that the best priority rules for these production systems are those which consider the number of missing operations per order, such as the MOR and LOR rules. The combination of these rules with the unitary transfer of products increases on average by 13% the amount of finished products compared to the FIFO rule and full batch transfer method currently used by the company. The combinations also improve the rest of the seven performance measures proposed.
