Item Identificación de infección de vías urinarias según el examen elemental y microscópico de orina de los habitantes de Absul-Tambo. 2015(Universidad de Cuenca, 2016-11-11) Arcentales Cayamcela, Zoila Margarita; Guamán Faicán, Miriam Andrea; Cárdenas Carrera, Jenny Carola; Cañar Lojano, Hugo AníbalBACKGROUND: The elemental and microscopic urine test (EMO in Spanish), is a basic exam with a high clinical significance, useful to diagnose urinary tract infections. (1) OBJECTIVE: To identify the urinary tract infections according to the elemental and microscopic urine test in the inhabitants of the community called Absul –Tambo 2015. METHODOLOGY: It was a descriptive, cross-sectional study, in the community of Absul -Tambo. The population consists of 250 inhabitants, and because of quality and service matters to the community, 200 people were participant of the study, equivalent to the 80%. The participants were trained for the correct collection of urine sample. To gather the information, a survey was applied, the samples were processed by the authors of the research project in the Laboratory of the Medical Sciences School, under strict quality standards and biosecurity; the results obtained were entered into the statistical program SPSSV-22 and Microsoft Excel for descriptive statistics. RESULTS: 12% of the inhabitants showed urine tract infections, the 95.8% correspond to female gender, the 66% between 5 to 34 years old, the 55,5% are sexually active and the 20,8 % had recurrence of urine tract infection. CONCLUSION: The research contributed to the identification of urine tract infection according to the elemental and microscopic urine test in the inhabitants of Absul, providing statistical data of Urine Tract Infections in the community.
