We used a qualitative approach with exploratory scope and design of transverse type. Working with cuencanos inhabitants belonging to the parish, with the application of semi-structured interviews. The main results of the research were that the perception that the inhabitants of the parish of San Blas have on the Venezuelan immigration is related to the first experience in contact with this population. With regard to the beliefs of the cuencanos, it was found that tend to create concepts about characteristics of the people and based on this, it generates a better treatment of persons entering from the US and Europe since there is a belief that their presence is more positive than Venezuelan immigrants by the fact that the country they come from. It is recommended that a more in-depth research on the topic and thus generates a reflective and propositive on social inclusion of immigrants in the Ecuadorian context.
