    Conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas sexuales relacionadas con las infecciones de transmisión sexual (ITS) en los usuarios que acuden al Centro de Salud Sayausí del cantón Cuenca, enero – febrero 2022

    Background: STI are transmitted by body fluids, several of them lead to death if timely treatment is not started. One of the sexually transmitted diseases that stands out in Ecuador is HIV, according to the annual HIV bulletin, 45.056 people are living with disease. Objectives: To determine the level of knowledge, attitudes and sexual practices related to sexually transmitted infections in users between 20 and 50 years old who attend the Sayausi Health Center, 2022. Method: A study with a quantitative approach was carried out, with a sample of 150 users with an age range of 20-50 years of age. Through the application of the questionnaire validated and carried out by Medic, Cir Francisco Edgar, which was modified according to the objectives of the study. The results were transcribed and analyzed in the SPSS version 2.5 digital database, and represented through simple frequency tables. Results: From the studied sample it was determined that the predominant sex was female with 64.7% (n=97), 43.3% (n=65) with single marital status, predominant age with 54% 20 – 30 years, 66.7% of users have a “Bad” level of knowledge. Regarding the attitude of the users, it was positive with 98.7% and, finally, sexual practices are unsafe since 62.7% sometimes use a condom during sexual intercourse. Conclusion: Users have poor knowledge about STIs, have a good attitude towards this public health problem and engage in bad sexual practices.
