Background: Autoimmune Hepatitis is a chronic inflammatory liver disease that can occur at any age and ethnic group, predominantly in women and genetically predisposed people; with a wide range of clinical manifestations that vary from the absence of symptoms to acute presentations; in the absence of treatment it will evolve to fibrosis and cirrhosis or acute liver failure and fulminant hepatitis. Objective: To determine the clinical characteristics of patients diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis at the González Gastroenterological Specialty Center in the period August 2016 – August 2021. Methodology: Descriptive, retrospective study in patients with AIH. We worked with an anonymized database from the González Center for Gastroenterological Specialties. Data were collected using forms created by the authors. Subsequently, they were analyzed with the statistical program SPSS version 23, and presented in descriptive tables. Qualitative variables were presented with absolute and relative frequency. Results: The participants (n=30) were characterized as being mainly female (73.3%) and in the age group of 40-64 years (43.3%). The acute presentation form (36.70%) was the most predominant, mainly associated with rheumatoid arthritis (6.70%). AIH-primary biliary cirrhosis overlap syndrome occurred in 30% of patients. AIH type 1 was the most predominant (83.3%). Initial combined therapy (83.3%) and immunomodulatory maintenance treatment (56.7%) were the most indicated therapeutic strategies. Conclusions: The clinical characteristics of AIH at the González Gastroenterological Specialty Center are comparable to those of other locations.
