Item Accesibilidad para personas con discapacidad visual en hoteles boutique de la ciudad de Cuenca. Análisis de casos: Hotel Mansión Alcázar y Hotel Santa Lucía(2015) Mejía Guaraca, Jackeline Monserrath; Galarza Torres, Marcela AlexandraThe present investigation is an analysis of accessibility for people with visual disabilities in Boutique Hotels in the city of Cuenca, for this had been selected two cases:MansiónAlcázar Hotel and SantaLucía Hotel. It was based on the "Guide to accessibility for people with visual disabilities" done by ONCE. This work consisted in a fieldwork, where each area from the hotels was studied following the parameters established in the guide, usinga rating system fulfill or non-fulfill. At the end of the investigation it was determined that Mansion Alcazar Hotel has a degree of accessibility of 70%, while Santa Lucia Hotel reaches 80% accessibility.Item Análisis de la aplicación de buenas prácticas ambientales en el Bar Restaurant Sports Planet de la ciudad de Cuenca. Manual de buenas prácticas ambientales(2013) Reibán Benenaula, Ana Belén; San Andrés Becerra, Carlos Miguel; Galarza Torres, Marcela AlexandraThis is a work that has as basis an on-site investigation in the environmental area; specifically, in a restaurant in the city of Cuenca. This work establishes the parameters upon which a mitigating proposal is being elaborated to deal with wrong environmental practices. The object of study is a bar-restaurant named Sports Planet, located in the commercial center Millennium Plaza. This is a thematic restaurant of Tex Mex food focused on sports in general. It’s been decided to study and to identify in which way the daily routine activities are being conducted in order to discern whether these activities are being respectful of the environment and are aiding in its preservation. The investigation is divided in four sections. Each section deals with a different topic of analysis, and even thought their different each section builds on the investigation as a whole. The first part is developed upon a general study by the Commission of Environmental Management of the City of Cuenca, its background, its duties and objectives, and the environmental policy it conducts; these points will draw the guidelines that will drive our investigation. The restaurant has been divided in two areas in order to facilitate its analysis. The first area is the administrative part that will be discussed in the second section of this dissertation. It is in this latter part where the erroneous environmental practices, which take place in the daily routine of the restaurant, will be identified. In the same manner and following the same scheme, the environmental problems that are being generated in the operative area will be identified in the third section of this investigation. Finally, we will give our critical point of view about the management of the daily activities of the restaurant. This will be done on the fourth part of this investigation. In addition to this constructive criticism, a manual for good environmental practices will be proposed. The objectives of this manual will be the lowering of environmental contamination and the conscientization of the employees about respect for nature.Item Análisis de la aplicación de buenas prácticas de Turismo sostenible dirigido a 10 talleres artesanales de la isla Santa Cruz provincia de Galápagos, 2019(2020-06-23) Heras Altamirano, Allison Michelle; Galarza Torres, Marcela AlexandraThe analysis of Good Practices application in sustainable tourism aimed at 10 craft workshops in Santa Cruz Island, Galapagos Province, 2019, has shown that most crafts do not have the necessary tools for the fulfillment of a true sustainable development as to allow efficient savings of energy and water resources and an appropriate awareness of their employees related to, social and cultural and environmental issues, which is why this analysis is necessary, because it is a tool that allows artisans to adopt sustainable management practices, in a simple and effective way. Based on principles that aim to minimize negative impacts and maximize the benefits of the activity in the socio-cultural, environmental and business environment. In this Parador develop activities according to the conservation of the environment, with the use of wind power, and solar panels. Importantly, the waters that run this hostel are known to be medicinal springs, help prevent and improve the health of people. We analyzed some concepts of Environmental Management, Tourism, and Ecotourism. As well as the structure of the Parador Eco tourism and environmental processes that take place during the development of the various activities that occur in it. The importance of tourism and eco resorts and both positive and negative influence on the environment.Complexes whether tourist or eco-tourism, contribute to the economy of the countries, and generated employment opportunities and improve the quality of life of people. In 2019 it was the fourth most visited area in the country, however, with the arrival of the Covid-19 pandemic in March 2020 it was forced to close its doors to tourists for an indefinite period. For this reason, the authorities and the main tourist actors of the park encountered the need to seek and implement strategies that will help the progressive reactivation of tourism, these same strategies being necessary to continue with tourism. Therefore, the purpose of this research project is to analyze the process of reactivation of tourism in the Cotopaxi National Park in the face of the event of the pandemic in the period March 2020 - March 2021, through a qualitative approach with descriptive scope and the creation of networks to reach the results that showed if the measures implemented served to reactivate tourism in the park or if other strategies should be taken, also to analyze the perceptions of tourism actors in relation to the measures taken for this reactivation.
