Item Actualización del inventario de atractivos turísticos del Cantón Cañar con la metodología del Ministerio de Turismo (2017)(2020-06-01) Ávila Ortiz, Claudia Alexandra; Medina Sánchez, Andrea Elizabeth; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelCañar canton possesses an inventory of tourist attractions done in 2004 with the IDOM and CETUR methodologies, in this way, the need of the project “Updating of the tourist attractions inventory of Cañar with the methodology of the Ministry of Tourism (2017)” arises in order to organize the attractions into a hierarchy and generate tourist places of Ecuador of Ministry of Tourism of 2017. In 2018, this methodology had some variations, with the main objective of establishing a planning tool in order to strengthen the tourist development and revitalize the economy of the canton, taking advantage of the natural and cultural attractions which are the raw material of a territory that generates interest for visitors. The Ministry of Tourism delegates the autonomous decentralized local governments to elaborate and update the inventory of tourist attractions; in this way, the local intercultural government of Cañar identified 25 possible tourist attractions; however, when doing the field visits, revisions of primary and secondary sources and the application of the criteria of the systematized specifications, it was determined that the canton counts in 23 tourist attractions, being 8 of natural type and 15 of the cultural one; reason why, Cañar has been designated as “Archeological and Cultural capital of Ecuador”. Therefore, the canton meets the optimal conditions and presents three centers and a potential tourist area, portrayed in maps which were done with ArcGis program version 10.3. Moreover, a comparative chart between the former and the current inventory is presented.Item Actualización del inventario de atractivos turísticos del cantón Gualaquiza, con la metodología del Ministerio de Turismo (2018)(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-10-14) Espejo Suin, Bernardo Deifilio; Muñoz Gómez, Christian Lizardo; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThe present intervention work aims to the tourist attractions inventory update of the Gualaquiza canton in the province of Zamora Chinchipe, the work will be an essential tool for tourism planning, in addition to identifying the natural attractions and cultural manifestations that each parish in the canton has. This inventory will help the territorial planning of the space where the attraction and its population is located. The canton did not have an updated inventory, therefore, an agreement was made between the authors of this research and the Municipal GAD, for the elaboration of the intervention work, using the Methodology of the Ministry of Tourism (2018). In the first instance, the attractions were identified, then the information was gathered, as well as the weighting and hierarchy of the attractions; and the association and typification of tourist spaces was generated, through the Geographic Information System (GIS) tool and finally, the inventory of tourist attractions was socialized with the Department of Tourism of the Municipality GAD of Gualaquiza.Item Actualización del Inventario de atractivos turísticos del cantón Santiago de la Provincia de Morona Santiago con la metodología del Ministerio de Turismo 2017(2019-07-25) Villavicencio Villavicencio, Jennifer Mariela; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThe present intervention work entitled "Updating the Inventory tourist attractions of canton Santiago in the province of Morona Santiago with the methodology of the Ministry of Tourism 2017", is an important tool for future tourist developments in the canton of Santiago, updating the inventory will allow planning and generating tourism projects that will help to boost the economy of the territory and to mitigate possible negative effects, and this in turn will lead to the discovery of the natural and cultural beauty of the canton. Currently, canton Santiago belonging to the province of Morona Santiago does not count on an updated inventory of tourist attractions; however, in the parish territorial arrangement planning of the canton's , some attractions with greater frequency of visit are mentioned, that is why there is the need for updating the inventory of the canton Santiago tourist attractions with the methodology of the Ministry of Tourism, 2017. In this project of intervention, the use of the methodology of tourism 2017 allowed the identification, classification and valuation of the attractions with the best conditions for the development of tourist products resulting in twenty nine attractions.Item Actualización del inventario de atractivos turísticos naturales y culturales del cantón Pablo Sexto provincia de Morona Santiago para potenciar la actividad turística del cantón(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-12-11) Barrera Cornejo, Daniel Fernando; Jeton Mora, Karla Alexandra; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelIn the present work, the inventory of tourist attractions of the Pablo Sexto canton, province of Morona Santiago, was updated, applying the methodology of the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador (2018). The information was obtained through the weighting and ranking tools, determining that there are sixteen tourist attractions. Specifically, it was found that eight attractions correspond to cultural manifestations and eight to natural attractions. With the hierarchy card it was established that twelve attractions correspond to hierarchy II and three attractions correspond to hierarchy III. Then, with the geographical information (location, distance, characteristics) of each attraction, it was possible to typify a tourist space based on the characteristics of its attractions. The proximity of the tourist attractions and the infrastructure to be able to generate associativity is highlighted. Finally, tourist routes are proposed highlighting the characteristics of this Amazonian canton such as culture and nature. The itinerary, costs and timing taken to effectively carry out the route are detailed. The routes propose a new and attractive experience for a target of tourists who seek added value in their trips. This project was developed considering the aspects and guidelines exhibited in the Methodology for Attractions Hierarchy and Generation of Tourist Spaces of Ecuador presented by the Ministry of Tourism. As tourist resources were identified 19, which, after the methodology application, resulted in 14 tourist attractions, of which 9 belong to the category of cultural manifestation, and 5 to the category of natural attractions, Sígsig is determined as a canton with high tourist potential according to the information raised and recorded in the tourist attraction registration cards and on the maps elaborated.Item Actualización del inventario de atractivos turísticos, según la metodología del Ministerio de Turismo (2018) aplicada al cantón Azogues, provincia del Cañar – Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-09-11) Álvarez Guamán, Jefferson Iván; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelPart of the competencies of the Municipal Decentralized Autonomous Governments (GAD) is the preparation and updating of inventories of tourist attractions in their jurisdictions. That is why, under the authorization of the mayor of the municipal GAD of the canton of Azogues, Mr. Javier Serrano, and the Tourism Unit of Azogues, the work of titling "Update of the inventory of tourist attractions according to the methodology of the Ministry of Tourism (2018) applied to the canton of Azogues, province of Cañar – Ecuador" was carried out. This project seeks to generate and register a tool that facilitates the development of future plans aimed at strengthening and promoting tourism activities, thus promoting the economic growth of the territory. For this project, the criteria established in the Methodology for the Hierarchy of Attractions and Generation of Tourist Spaces of Ecuador, created by the Ministry of Tourism in 2018. 43 tourist resources were identified, after using the methodology, 33 tourist attractions were obtained, of which 19 belong to the category of cultural manifestation and 14 to the category of natural attraction. Thus, to determine if a place has a vocation to carry out activities related to tourism, it requires an analysis that goes beyond determining the presence of tourist attractions. East turns out to be one of the problems in the San Bartolomé parish, since, although has attractions, the analysis of other characteristics is required to define its level tourist vocation. To achieve this objective, the López methodology was used. et al., 2017, which uses different factors that revolve around the fitness variables and capacity of a territory, likewise, the tools used for this research were primary sources, among which are: interviews semi-structured, field work, and participatory workshops. I also know used secondary sources as part of the literature review, data statistical, geographical, among others. Therefore, this research provides a approach to the current situation of tourist activity within the parish, allowing to know their potentialities and aspects to improve, through this It will define the degree of tourist vocation of the study area. Ability.Item Diagnóstico de la sostenibilidad de las agencias de viajes operadoras de Cuenca: SLT TOURS, DEEP Ecuador Travel y Altitud Ecuador mediante los criterios de Global Sustainable Tourism Council, 2019(2020-01-21) Bernal Iñiguez, David Felipe; Peña Castro, David Mauricio; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelIn Ecuador, the issue of sustainability is the process of development, and in the area of tourism there have been small yet important advances. However, tourism sustainability has focused on the gastronomic and hotel areas, without paying much attention to tourism intermediaries. These are responsible for a large part of the country’s tourist flow, leaving different impacts on the destinations where they operate. The purpose of this research is to diagnose the level of sustainability in three travel agencies operating in the city of Cuenca, Ecuador. For that, criteria have been taken from the Global Sustainable Tourism Council for Tour Operators, which, once being adapted to the local reality, yield a total of 140 variables to study. Figures were obtained by applying criteria in three approaches: an insight of the agencies, and two in flied trips to destinations: Ingapirca Archeological Complex and El Cajas National Park. Once the results were obtained, the analysis was performed by using statistical tool of conglomerates, which helped in categorizing. In this way, the results were analyzed from a micro to macro approach, from the individual to the collective. Once this analysis was obtained, an improvement plan was elaborated through the weight factors method, allowing to identify the points that the agencies should pay more attention, and finally, it includes actions to be undertaken to comply with these points.Item Dinámicas de operación del turismo de aventura con respecto a la cadena de valor turística en el cantón Paute. Caso de estudio: Parapente(Universidad de Cuenca, 2024-09-16) Cabrera Vanegas, Karla Salomé; Jiménez Peña, Nicole Camila; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThis study focused on the operational dynamics of paragliding in the Paute Canton within the context of paragliding. Its objective was to understand the dynamics of adventure sports and describe the collaboration between tourism actors in relation to the paragliding offer. The study had an observational qualitative approach, with an exploratory-descriptive scope, which was divided into three phases: theoretical review, semi-structured interviews with agencies and providers, and finally, data analysis was carried out using the discourse analysis method with the support of ATLAS.ti for the generation of inductive and deductive codes, highlighting the perceptions of those involved in the tourist operation of paragliding. The contribution to the value chain was the central theme of this study, identifying both the challenges and opportunities faced by the operation of paragliding. The results of the study highlighted the favorable willingness of local operators to collaborate crucially and strengthen the value chain, as well as the importance of cooperation between stakeholders for the sustainability of the activity and the consolidation of the canton's tourism offer. For paragliding to contribute significantly to the canton's tourism offer, it is crucial that there is solid institutional support and close collaboration between all the actors involved, this would be achieved through a consolidation of the tourist offer and the recognition of adventure tourism as a developing area.Item Diseño de dos rutas de turismo de aventura, dirigidas a niños de ocho a doce años de edad, dentro del cantón cuenca: Llacao – Sinincay Y Tarqui- Cumbe, provincia del Azuay(2017) Abril Abril, Darío Xavier; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThe slogan "Ecuador, Potencia Turística" shows us that Ecuador has a large amount of existing tourist resources of great value for the development of tourism, as well as tourism infrastructure and services throughout its territory; in the case of the province of Azuay, we can find the tourist resources with great potential which have not yet been developed at all. Tourism in the province mainly focuses on the cantons: Cuenca, Gualaceo and Chordeleg, with a strictly cultural motivation; whether for its architecture, gastronomy or handcrafts, leaving the conditions of temperature, natural areas, the flow of rivers, the diversity and beauty of the landscapes of the region, which allow the development of many tourist activities. In the present work, the adventure tourism activities that can be developed in Cuenca and its parishes are included, in order to develop adventure tourism routes in the parishes of Cumbe, Llacao, Sinincay and Tarqui, as well as the operators and providers of these activities necessary for the development of adventure routes aimed at children between eight and twelve years old.Item Diseño de paquetes turísticos para personas con movilidad restringida en la provincia del Azuay(2015) Pasato Ureña, Guisela Patricia; Yunga Enderica, María Fernanda; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThis research work presents the design and proposal of tourist packages for people with restricted mobility in wheelchair in the province of the Azuay, since it is important to mention that tourism for disabled people is a potential booming market. Such is the case of certain countries in Europe that have developed this type of tourism, being a mainstream for people who want to visit a destination without barriers, offering them quality services to meet their needs allow the tourists to enjoy a journey no matter the disability they may have. The development of this research work has been based on an extensive analysis of the main attractions and tourist infrastructure of Azuay province, taking into account the cantons that have increased tourism operation inside the province; being these prone to render accessible services for this type of tourism. When carrying out the analysis of the attractions and tourist infrastructure of Azuay province, four tour packages focused on different kinds of tourism comprising cultural, religious, craft and shopping; including also recreation activities that complement the service.Item El turismo post pandemia: caso Alausí, Ecuador(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-10-24) Sánchez Narváez, Ángel Santiago; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThis study investigated the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on the tourism sector of the Alausí canton, Ecuador. The pandemic has had a significant effect on it, such as the adoption of biosecurity measures and restrictions on mobility, which has led to an impact on tourism services in the area. However, after the decrease in infections and the relaxation of restrictions, the owners have undertaken the opening of new tourism businesses with the aim of reactivating the local economy. The study was carried out using a qualitative descriptive-comparative approach and cross-sectional scope. Semi-structured recorded interviews were used, which were subsequently transcribed and classified into categories of analysis using coding units. The main objective is to analyze the changes that occurred in the tourist services of Alausí after the Covid-19 pandemic. The results of the study demonstrated the impacts and transformations that the tourism sector in Alausí has experienced as a result of the pandemic. The conclusions focus on the adaptations made by tourism actors in response to the crisis, and emphasize the need to adopt effective public policy at the tourism level by local authorities. The first phase of this work will show the academic aspects of the university in connection with student/professor’s mobility and internationalization in the LOES (Ley Orgánica de Educación Superior), “Higher Education Law,” and the academic offering that provides to the community. Then in the second phase through surveys and interviews conducted to students and professors/researchers of the mobility programs of the University of Cuenca in the present academic term; it will be able to find their requirements and needs, both academic and daily. Finally, the third phase of this investigation exposes graphic and informative content as a Practical Guide for the students and professors who wish to join the University of Cuenca temporarily.Item Impactos causados por las plataformas peer to peer sobre el turismo de la ciudad de Cuenca. Casos Airbnb y TripAdvisor(2017) Avila León, Christian Alfonso; Pesántez Bermeo, Roberto David; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThe present study arises from the need to know what is happening at impact level around tourism intermediation platforms in the city of Cuenca, taking as case studies Airbnb and TripAdvisor. The method used has a mixed approach, considering that in the first instance, data are recorded from the web pages in question and then tourist businessmen are surveyed about their perception of this phenomenon; The qualitative phase is constituted by interviews generated to an offerer and applicant of an informal site. It is evident the incursion of these businesses predominantly at the level of accommodation, as far as perception entrepreneurs associate this phenomenon with unfair competition among other aspects. The interview shows that there are benefits for the parties (supply and demand). This phenomenon deserves studies in depth and rigor, being still premature to legislate around the subject.Item Importancia del turismo comunitario para el desarrollo de las comunidades cañaris(2011) Orellana Amoroso, Tania María; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelItem Levantamiento de atractivos turísticos de la parroquia Sayausí del cantón Cuenca, provincia del Azuay, mediante la metodología del Ministerio de Turismo (2018)(Universidad de Cuenca, 2020-11-26) Sinchi Payana, Jenny Alexandra; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelSayausí is a parish made up of natural and cultural resources, that is why, fulfilling the functions assigned to the Decentralized Autonomous Government of Sayausí, with regard to territorial, economic, social and tourist development of the parish, its President Martín Lucero, hereby has authorized the realization of the intervention project entitled “Inventory making of attractions in Sayausí parish, canton Cuenca, province of Azuay, through the methodology of the Ministry of Tourism 2018,” which aims to become a management tool in the tourism field. Therefore, the present intervention project has been carried out using the methodology proposed by the Ministry of Tourism of Ecuador 2018, which specifies the criteria to be considered for the inventory making of tourist information, hierarchy and generation of tourist space in territory, with the aforementioned methodology it has been established that in the Sayausí parish there are 44 cultural and 16 natural attractions. Therefore, it is defined that Sayausí parish is a tourist area, containing stopover, distribution, and visitation centers, all this is due to its territorial extension with physical and geographical characteristics in conjunction with the infrastructure that it has.Item Levantamiento del catastro de establecimientos turísticos del Centro Histórico de la ciudad de Cuenca, Ecuador, 2021(Universidad de Cuenca, 2022-01-11) Guamán Aucapiña, Jackeline Elizabeth; Matute Castro, Katherine Liliana; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThe lifting of a tourist cadastre is an effective tool to organize the activity tourism and is a fundamental part of planning the development of this important sector, as well as to know the current status of the establishments dedicated to this activity, in addition to represent a basis for future projects that enhance the sector. Cuenca, like Atenas del Ecuador, with a large tourist influx, requires good management of data that contribute in its development, in this way, the intervention project "Survey of the cadastre of tourist establishments in the Historic Center of the city of Cuenca, Ecuador, 2021 " that revealed the current reality of the establishments that make up a significant sector of the city. A georeferenced database of the establishments that they are part of the new cadastre with a brief analysis of it; that will serve as support for future studies and projects; having as a final result of the project a new Cadastre Tourist of the Historic Center of Cuenca "Tourist Registry CH 2021" and a map georeferential of the same. Keywords: Tourist Cadastre, establishment, changes, pandemic, georeferencing.Item Los procesos de reactivación turística del cantón Baños de Agua Santa ligados a la resiliencia de las agencias de viajes en el contexto de la pandemia por COVID-19(Universidad de Cuenca, 2023-03-17) Aguirre Lazo, Ariana Sofía; Menéndez Preciado, Connie Xiomara; Eljuri Jaramillo, María IsabelThis research analyzes the resilience processes derived from the COVID-19 health emergency in Ecuador, case study Baños de Agua Santa, taking into account the events that travel agencies and tour operators went through from the reactivation of tourism in Ecuador; as well as the change in tourism dynamics and the flow of tourists compared to years prior to 2020. Baños being an important tourist destination in Ecuador, adopted the Tourism Reactivation Plan, which began as its own initiative and that later the Ministry of Tourism launched one that governed in national territory. This research has a qualitative approach, descriptive in scope, through an analysis of the hermeneutic method. The research began with the identification of travel agencies, tour operators in Baños and the participation of representatives of the public and private sector; and then a semi-structured survey with questions of interest for research was conducted. The study shows that Baños is in a stage of recovery, guided by innovation. At the same time, the role of entities such as the Directorate of Tourism of Baños and the Chamber of Tourism of Baños in the processes of tourism reactivation is announced. Finally, the ability of Baneños to overcome adversity is evident, but there also were resilience possesses.
