Contreras Calle, Wilson Teodoro
The project sought to determine the level of knowledge of Physical Education
teachers in the city of Cuenca about the 2016 curriculum and to develop a proposed
guide for its implementation. This study is qualitative and quantitative in nature,
allowing to establish the degree of application of the 2016 Physical Education
curriculum by teachers in their planning. To develop this research, information obtained
through the interview (carried out virtually) was used where possible barriers (problems)
were defined regarding the application and implementation of the current Physical
Education curriculum. Additionally, a "help guide for teachers" was developed where
barriers and possible solutions are discussed for the application of a training program
where both aspects were evidenced, the same as applied by an external professional in
the area with a duration of 3 months. The research had two stages, the first was a case
study, in which the level of knowledge of the teachers was determined with the interview
and barriers were detected to execute the help guide with possible solutions that was
applied to 12 teachers of different ages and gender of 4 educational institutions both
public and private. In the second part, a pre-experimental study was carried out, where
with the help guide developed, a training program was applied dealing with the barriers
and possible solutions that were applied to 12 teachers from the La Asunción Private
Educational Unit. This study served to gain knowledge about the level of preparation
that teachers have for the implementation of the 2016 curriculum. For the development
of a guide to help and for its subsequent implementation, barriers and possible solutions
that are presented to the teacher were found Physical Education teacher when making
use of the curriculum in their planning.

Lucero Calle, Edwin Vinicio
Suarez Bautista, Edinson Saul
Andrade Tenesaca, Dolores Susana
Background: An estimated 60 per cent of the world’s population does not
engage in physical activity necessary to obtain health benefits, thus increasing
sedentary behaviour during work activities, and the use of passive transport
contribute to sedentary lifestyle.
General objective: To assess physical activity, sedentary behaviour and
anthropometric measurements of nursing staff
Methodology: The sample consisted of 150 people from the nursing staff
of a health organization in the city of Cuenca. An analytical, prospective,
observational study was carried out. Socio-demographic data were collected,
observational measures and surveys were implemented. The data were
processed using SPSS 20.0, using descriptive statistics, as well as Odds ratio
and Chi square to measure the association between physical activity and
sedentary lifestyle with anthemometric measurements.
Results: The study group was composed mainly of women (94.7%), and
children under 40 (61.3%), with medium socio-economic level. Physical activity
in most subjects is light, with very low percentages of moderate activity
(somewhat higher in nursing auxiliaries), but without statistical differences.
Nurses spend more time per day on activities outside the home, while nurses do
more at home.
Conclusions: In the study population there is a high tendency to
overweight and obesity, as well as abdominal obesity. Subjects with less physical
activity and more hours devoted to sedentary activities showed a higher
percentage of cases with overweight or obesity and abdominal obesity.

Lafebre Quezada, Juan Pablo
Macas Torres, José Roberto
This investigation work was set up with the object of giving the needed importance referred to muscle training, correctly guided for professionals on that field.
A clutch of 20 students was worked on, 19 men and a woman, group which was formed among individuals from 18 to 28 years old, because it was worked with university students that wave those ages. What was searched was to get the planted objectives for the heterogeneous group, objectives that basically were the loss of weight and the muscular mass increasing. That is why, for making each program, it was necessary to apply muscular tests.
The anthropometric scope was also considered, which helped us to rate the BMI (body mass index) levels that each person had.
It should be noted that each one of such tests were applied at the beginning, throughout and at the end of the training program.
Conclusions pointed out that all the studied group members diminished the percentage of fat and fatty weight; it was independently of what they wanted to get with the objective. So in this way, we could take into account that there was a similitude in the entire studied group, being that everyone diminished their percentage and fatty weight and increased their lean mass, but in different levels because of the variable objectives.

Ojeda Cabrera, Segundo Nicanor
Diaz Morocho, Dorian Euro
ABSTRACT
The present intervention project aimed to strengthen interpersonal relationships in children through recreational activities.
The study subjects were made up of all the children from the Somos Familia Cuenca foundation, whose ages ranged from 6 to 12 years old, this project is aimed at children who mostly have dysfunctional homes or absence of relatives because for various reasons they are deprived of their liberty.
To obtain a true database, the Sacks test (incomplete sentences) was applied, because of the fact that it gives us results that the children have problems of interpersonal relations.
The results obtained after the application of the various recreational activities show that most children are able to achieve positive changes; these activities provide some help to behavioral changes especially in children.

Contreras Calle, Wilson Teodoro
The purpose of this study was to develop a program of sport activities to improve physical
conditions such as flexibility, resistance, strength, and velocity in children from the
communities of the canton Chordeleg. The methodology that was applied in this Project is
framed in a quasi-experimental design.
This study gathered a sample of 42 children from the communities of the canton Chordeleg
in which the test was applied to determine their physical conditions. Strength was started out
with, the test that was applied was long jump without running, for velocity the test of 20mts,
for resistance the Course-Navette test, and so measure flexibility the Toe-touch test. The
activities that offered positive effects in the group of study were identified this way.
To observe the results that helped diagnose the research, the following programs were
worked on, Shapiro Wil. (p>.05) test, which helped find the parametric tests, based on the
comparison of the pre and post test, we used the well-known T-Student test, likewise Pearson
correlation coefficient r was applied in order to establish relationships with the ages. Finally,
the Wilcoxon test was applied to establish the significant changes of the number of children.
For the prosecution of the information the statistics program SPSS v27 was used, 5% (p<.05)
of the significance was worked on.

Rojas Bautista, Christian Alfredo
Cevallos Arias, Carlos Fernando
Brito Parra, Jorge Eduardo
The objective of this investigation was to describe the relationship between body
composition and sports performance in elite race walkers. Using the ISAK (International
Society for the Advancement of Kinanthropometry) protocol, this descriptive study
analyzed quantitatively the 23 race walkers - 12 men and 11 women - who compete at
national and international levels. The body composition was determined by using the 5
components in the anatomical fractionation model of Ross & Kerr (1988- 1993). The
results of the non-random simple studied in different body components including: Muscle
Mass, Adipose Mass, Bone Mass, Residual Mass and Cutaneous Mass, did not present
significative differences in relation to variables such as: sex, competitive level and
category. Finally, the existing relation between corporal composition and sports
performance was established. It was found that as long as body masses do not exceed
their percentages, the athlete should carry less muscle charge during the competition, and
this facilitates their performance and therefore their sports performance. In addition, from
the data obtained, the Body Mass Index was analyzed, which indicated that the athletes
are within normal parameters. In the same way, the Bone-Muscle Index showed that the
relationship between muscle and skeleton contributes to knowing the total body weight
that can be carried by the athlete.

Monge Llivisaca, Carlos Gregorio
Diego Martín Castro Lema
The objective of this research work is to elaborate a Manual of methodological technical training
for Power Lifting through a bibliographic review, in order to contribute to the strengthening and
technical development of its practitioners through an appropriate methodology; for which a
bibliographic search was carried out in 4 databases (academic Google, Dialnet, Ebsco Sport Discus
and Web of Science) and articles published between 2000 and 2020 were selected, of which 10
articles met the criteria inclusion. It is important to consider that a deficiency in the technique used
within this discipline represents a high risk of injury, because the loads with which it is worked are
high; Likewise, an inadequate structuring of training sessions can lead to over-training. To
guarantee adequate technical development and progression, it is necessary to comply with the
recommendations made by several specialized authors in this field, for this reason various
bibliographic sources have been investigated.

This project aims to analyze the errors in the execution of technical gestures: hand
kick, half-height kick, and floor kick in goalkeepers with the help of technology. The
participants of this study were goalkeepers from the Goalkeeper_Cuenca Academy in the
city of Cuenca and professional goalkeepers from Gualaceo Sporting Club. For this
research, a quantitative methodology was applied at a case study level. Different
instruments and processes were used in each phase. Therefore, in the diagnosis stage, an
analysis of technical gestures was required and the Kinovea program was used.
Furthermore, this process was complemented with the next phase, where the errors of the
technical gestures were determined under a quantitative criteria evaluation.
Finally, the results obtained in the previous stages helped to do an in-depth
analysis and a comparison between amateur and professional goalkeepers. The final
results showed similarities and differences in terms of errors and which of them were the
most common ones in the two groups.
The research results demonstrated the shortcomings involved in each of the
technical gestures studied, highlighting errors in steering and striking characteristics. In
addition, amateur goalkeepers compared to professional goalkeepers showed a greater
incidence in committing more errors in the execution of technical gestures in the direction
of the ball and in the hitting in the service from the floor.
With the implementation of technology; it is expected that the research will be
novel, helping current and future researchers or academy goalkeepers to carry out a
training plan to correct their errors in the execution of technical gestures (hand kick, halfheight kick, and floor kick).

Delgado Espinoza, Ana Cristina
This research work is a bibliographic review that aims to analyze the influence
of the motivational climate in Physical Education classes on extracurricular Physical
Activity. For the selection of articles, four digital databases were used, research in
Spanish and English that had been published since 2010 in students aged 8 - 18 years
were searched. Applying previously established selection criteria, a total of 13 scientific
articles were included. The results of the review indicated that a task-oriented motivational
climate in Physical Education classes significantly influences students to carry out
extracurricular Physical Activity. However, some studies showed that boys requested a
motivational orientation to ego, but showed higher Physical Activity than girls. In
conclusion, a good management of the motivational climate can influence extracurricular
Physical Activity, so Physical Education classes are of great importance in improving
healthy lifestyle habits in children and adolescents.

Low levels of physical activity and physical condition are a serious problem in adolescents today,
since sedentary lifestyles are a basis for long-term health problems. Therefore, the general
objective of the present study was to analyze the effect of a physical conditioning program focused
on third year high school students of the “Unidad Educativa Miguel Díaz Cueva”, the study was a
descriptive quasi-experimental study, the sample consisted of 62 students between 16-17 years
of age, forming two groups, an intervention group consisting of 31 students, and a control group
also consisting of 31 students, the intervention program consisted of a physical conditioning
program applied during the physical education classes of the experimental group. Physical activity
was measured with the short version of the IPAQ questionnaire, while physical fitness was
measured with the EUROFIT battery. The data were tabulated with the IBM SPSS statistical
program, obtaining the descriptive data for each of the variables in the pre- and post-test, as well
as the existing comparison. The results show that there was a significant improvement in the
physical condition of the students, so it is concluded that a program of this type applied during
physical education classes is quite effective in improving the physical condition levels of high
school students

Cuenca 2021
Pesantes Fierro, Carlos Manuel
Santacruz Calle, Edison Ronaldo
Cobos Bermeo, Nelson Albino
Physical activity plays a primary role throughout people's lives; however, the
relationship of physical activity to pregnancy has long been questioned. Although there is
scientific evidence that corroborates the importance of physical activity during pregnancy.
Physical activity levels of pregnant women according to international studies are too low.
In the national context, it has been shown that there are almost no studies focused on
measuring the level of physical activity during the gestational period.
Objective: To evaluate the level of physical activity of pregnant women attending the
"Health Center of the Ciudadela Tomebamba. Cuenca 2021."
Methodology: It was based on a descriptive cross-sectional study with a quantitative
approach, developed in the “Health Center of the Ciudadela Tomebamba” in the Cuenca
city. The questionnaire was applied “Pregancy Physical Activity Questionnarie” (PPAQ) to
32 pregnant women who met the inclusion criterion, during of June 2021.
Results: The energy expenditure or total physical activity of the pregnant women is 166.54
METs min/week (normal value 600 METs min/week), which is too low on average. In
terms of activities, the activity most performed by the pregnant women is domestic activity
and the one they perform the least is sports activity, as well as light intensity predominates,
in comparison with the low values of vigorous activity. Significant differences were found
in the variable level of academic training.
Conclusions: The level of physical activity is low of the pregnant women of “Health
Center of the Ciudadela Tomebamba”. The prevailing activities are household activities
with light intensities. On the other hand, sporting activity, as well as vigorous intensity, are
almost nil.

Naula Chimbo, Johny Segundo
Tacuri Peláez, Elsa Leonor
The present degree work called "IMPLEMENTATION OF A PHYSICAL
EXERCISE PROGRAM TO IMPROVE THE DEVELOPMENT OF MOTOR
SKILLS AND PHYSICAL CONDITION IN CHILDREN IN CONFINEMENT"
has the objective to implement a program of exercises directed at the development
of motor skills and physical condition in children during confinement due to the
Covid-19 pandemic. The present study of type quasi- experimental it had the first
stage, with the evaluation of motor skills and physical condition through a pretest,
addressed to children from six to ten years old belonging to six different families;
This intervention was carried out virtually two days a week with a duration of sixty
minutes and for a period of three months, with scheduled activities emphasizing the
deficiencies detected in the pretest; subsequently the post-test was developed,
finally a comparative analysis between the pre-test and post-test was carried out.
The results obtained in the pretest of basic motor skills were 73.33%, which
corresponds to the general average; while the general average of the basic motor
skills of the post-test amounted to 83.15%, with regard to physical capacities,
significant improvements were evidenced in the musculoskeletal capacity of the
lower body, motor capacity and aerobic capacity of children who were study
participants. In conclusion, a program of physical exercises aimed at working on
motor skills and physical condition in children in confinement is even more
effective if it is developed in a systematic and orderly manner based on the results
of a pretest. Finally, it is recommended to implement a program of physical
exercises with greater duration and weekly frequency.

Barreto Andrade, Jorge Antonio
This research work, discusses about the basic motor skills a child should have and which ones must be developed between the ages of 3 and 5. The basic motor skills are the foundation of the motor development of a human being, in children those are the primary factors in their daily actions. The evaluation and monitoring are performed by designated and chords for the respective ages of children test.
The movement, in its various forms, as pointed out by several authors, is the foundation of child development, through this is inter related the education and comprehensive training.
Through play, we can show that the child enjoys their motor skills actions, so those children can develop positive relationships, both with peers, their teachers in general.
To demonstrate the importance and need for a program of psychomotor activities in the early stages of their formation, a proposal was conducted to be applied in Unidad Educativa Santana in children 3 to 5 years.
As finding we can say that physical activity and the development of gross motor skills from an early age, are a major factor in the lives of children and their development both personally and school and should be encouraged and plan right to these activities in order to achieve a true significance in the motor development of children and in their future.

The general objective of this degree project was to evaluate the impact of a chess program
taught in person on the attention and memory factors in adolescents aged 12 to 14 years of
the "Galo Plaza Lasso" Educational Unit of San Fernando canton for a duration of two months.
The population consisted of 40 school students; the type of study applied for this degree
project was a quasi-experimental design focused on cases and control in which 24 students
were in the control group and 16 in the experimental group. During the program, two tests
associated with the study variables were used; The D2 test evaluates the attention in a time
limit where the evaluated has to develop the speed of processing and following instructions,
the Inverse Digits Subtest of the WISC-IV analyzes the memory more specifically the working
memory since it has parameters to evaluate the sequencing and panning skills. The purpose
of this project was to evaluate if the chess program improves the aforementioned factors, in
order to use it as a didactic strategy to help the cognitive part of the student. At the end of this
project, the results obtained were published, which when comparing the control group and the
intervention group, an improvement in the level of attention and memory could be observed in
the second group formed by students who actively participated in the chess course. Finally, it
was concluded that cognitive and motor benefits are obtained with the constant practice
of chess; such as a greater retention of information, improvement in decision making and also
in the attention and memory factor

Duchitanga Chimbo, Manuel Eduardo
Macas Torres, José Roberto
The development of physical fitness in the police personnel was presented as a research project in which a low level of fitness was found, constituting a strong motivation. A challenge for researchers is the need for a program scientifically supported for the development of police fitness as currently represent a serious threat to their comprehensive training.
In the proposed university, a random selection was made due to the extension of it eventually leaving a sample of 20 police and applied different test for the reality of the physical condition at the beginning of the research, including factors, as well, responsible for the limitations such as problems of the system, infrastructure, implementation, and planning sports. The inexistence of physical bankrupt programs with scientific rigor is a serious flaw because it must be part of the comprehensive training of a police officer therefore its contents must meet requirements determining pedagogical and didactic methods, means, and exercises suitable for development by ensuring their maximum effectiveness in their application. That is why we start from basics and an initial physical evaluation by implementing educational battery tests. These results are tabulated and proceeded to analyze findings and recommendations of the proposal to improve and develop your fitness from inception to adaptation and stabilization of its physical form - sports.

Brito Parra, Jorge Eduardo
In today's world, soccer is the sport par excellence, however, in order to achieve sufficient
merits to reach an excellent category, it is necessary that the players have a physical condition
that allows them to fully comply with all the activities that are required for achieve a good
performance and hence it is important to know the assessment of the physical condition in the
footballer to know where he starts from and how his evolution is being with the different training
sessions proposed during the year and from there this work aims to analyze the physical
qualities of the footballers of the Club Independiente Azogues in the 2023 Competition period,
determining the need and usefulness of the evaluation instruments. Methodologically it is a
quantitative investigation because mathematical/statistical processes are used to assess the
data of the applied tests. In addition, it is a field investigation because it is carried out directly
in the place where the investigation arises, that is, in the Club Independiente Azogues. For
the rest, it is a bibliographical research, descriptive level. The sample is made up of 20 players
who signed the consent. The evaluation of the physical qualities is carried out by means of
the Bangsbo Sprint Test, the Leg Strength Test, the Yuhasz Test and the Flexibility Test. As
a result, it was obtained that the players have developed the qualities depending on the
position they occupy and the age range.

Marca Rojas, Juan Carlos
Cobos Bermeo, Nelson Albino
The Covid-19 pandemic was an event that triggered a number of short and long term
consequences, particularly the physical and psychological state of older adults. The
objective of this degree project is to analyze the effect of a physical activity program on
the mood and physical condition of older adults at the Tomebamba Health Center. The
methodology used was quasi-experimental and descriptive. The universe of the study
consisted of adults over 60 years of age, with a sample of 20 participants by convenience,
who participated freely and voluntarily. The Senior Fitness Test (SFT) battery was used
to measure the physical condition variable, which is composed of 6 tests. It is evident that
after the intervention the group improved physical capacities: resistance (13-15 laps),
strength (18-24 rep.), flexibility (-0.10 cm), speed (5.45 sec). Mood was measured by
means of the Mood Rating Scale (EVEA), a questionnaire consisting of 16 items with a
Likert scale from 0 to 10. In this case, the results showed that there was an improvement
of 85% in the evaluation of happiness and a decrease in the categories of anxiety 15%,
depression 10% and hostility 10%. In conclusion, the physical activity program had a
positive effect on both physical condition and mood, showing potential values in the posttest results in each of the tests, with benefits for this group.

Calle Rivas, Darwin Ricardo
Díaz Morocho, Dorian Euro
The objective of this research is to present a basic guide of gerontogymnastics
exercises that can be taken into account for routine prescription for older adults with
cardiovascular conditions.
In order to obtain reliable results, an evaluative bibliographic review of the
documents presenting studies on gerontogymnastics was carried out, limiting the
variables of health conditions to cardiovascular conditions. Likewise, those documents
relevant to the Spanish language were considered, with the purpose of revealing the
frequency and level of consideration of the topic in question in Spanish-speaking
countries, as well as to avoid erroneous translations.
The exercises that showed positive results in the improvement of mobility and
quality of life of older adults were those that work on balance, strength and cardio
routines, as well as walks outdoors; the most recommended frequency is a routine of 3
to 5 days a week, with a duration of 20 to 60 minutes, with a medium to moderate
intensity and a heart rate not exceeding 45% of their performance. With these data, an
important contribution has been made for subsequent studies of gerontogymnastics that
consider cardiovascular conditions in older adults and that need a database to make
comparisons with new routines that can be prescribed as part of a thesis aimed at this
segment of the population.

The next project took place in the school's swimming Ivan Enderica over a period of six months, which involved 20 infants ranging in ages 0-12 months, this work will allow us to realize if the application of a program of water activities for their integral development is achieved and support the intellectual, social and motor development of children during this period. This whole program is justified on the basis that has a theoretical value, practical utility, social relevance, for which integration of coexistence between parents and children. The methodology used during the process was through the execution of water activities for the children, observation and test of progress in those areas, a survey of 10 questions direct representatives of children. As well as the results were tabulated in the known programs (Excel) that facilitated the collection of data. Which allowed to reach the following conclusions (a) the effect of the activities had a great impact on the development of children (b) was fulfilled with the proposed individual infants goal which use waterways as a way of stimulation, (C) that parents play a key role in stimulating in their children, the emotional ties that are generated between them. (d) activities implemented will have a positive value for the integral development of children the rest of his life.

Psychomotor skills are one of the most important aspects of a child's development; therefore,
it is necessary to work on them in all areas through motor activities that help the child to be
autonomous in his or her movements. The main objective of this study was to implement a
recreational program based on the use of the SAAC system for psychomotor and cognitive
improvement in hearing impaired children from 5 to 14 years of age at the Special Education
Unit "Claudio Neira Garzón". The methodology used was of a descriptive quasi-experimental
nature, the sample consisted of 17 students (10 boys and 7 girls), the Psychomotor Battery
(BPM) of Vitor Da Fonseca was used to measure the psychomotor levels of the participants,
the intervention program was applied three days a week for three months and consisted of
using play activities based on the review of the literature. The IBM SPSS statistical program
was used for data analysis. The results showed that there was a statistically significant
difference of 0.004 between the pre-test and post-test of the Psychomotor Battery (BPM) tests.
It was also shown that 58.82% of the participants had a dyspraxic psychomotor profile in the
pre-test and 52.94% had a normal profile after the intervention. Therefore, it is concluded that
a play program based on the SAAC method is quite effective in improving the psychomotor
skills of hearing-impaired children.

Zambrano Uday, Henry Patricio
Placencia Brito, Diego Eugenio
Aldas Arcos, Helder Guillermo
The influence of the standing type on speed tests of 100 m, 200m and 400 m, linked to sports
performance, is fundamental for the performance of an athlete. The foot being the structure that
maintains constant contact with the ground, the different types of foot presented by athletes,
together with training routines; they produce changes in their plantar print, which affects the
athlete's sports performance. The aim of this research is to link the type of foot and its influence
on sports performance in children-young athletics athletics in the canton Sigsig. The
methodology of this intervention is a descriptive analysis with a mixed, analytical and crosscutting approach; the Herzco method has been applied to a total of 22 athletes, both men and
women, who were taken to print their plantar print. Then the image digitization was done, using
Kinovea software, then originated in the analysis of the plant prints of each participant
obtaining precisely the type of foot each athlete possesses. The results obtained have shown
that there is greater predominance on the normal foot type with 54.54% followed by 15.91%
of the flat foot type and normal dug type; then followed by 13.64% the dug foot type. In
addition, 55% of all athletes have symmetrical feet and 45% have asymmetric feet; apart from
the fact that the large number of athletes who have gained sports are those with normal foot.
The above concludes that the normal foot could possibly influence sports performance; it is
ideal for the practice and competition of speed races

Sarmiento Otavalo, Boris Xavier
Varela Solano, Ramiro Xavier
This research had place in the Unidad Educativa de las Fuerzas Armadas COMIL - 4
“Abdón Calderón”. The mentioned institution the teachers said they used different
teaching styles in order to teach gymnastic content. As well, the results were satisfactory
in both execution and motivation level; nonetheless, the above lacks of scientific support.
Therefore, the main objective of this study was to analyze the effect between Direct
Command and Task Assignation on the execution of gymnastics elements and its
incidence on the motivation of students of elementary level. Consequently, a quasiexperimental study was developed in which 52 students participated. They were divided
into two groups with ages between six to eight years old. For this purpose, a teaching
program was applied under these two styles, one for each group. This program had a
duration of 12 sessions, which had as focus to teach about gymnastics elements: role
forward, role backward and head vertical. The data on the execution of these elements
were collected before and after the implementation of the program; and to evaluate them
a checklist was applied, in relation to motivation, the Motivation Questionnaire in
Physical Education in Primary Education (CMEF-EP) was used. From the results it was
evident that these styles made a big difference (value p<0,05) in each gymnastic element
and, about the motivation, it kept positive values. To conclude, Direct Command and
Task Assignation showed they effectiveness on motivation and execution of gymnastics
elements

Swimming is a complete physical activity, it also involves mental processes, a psychomotor action that allows the development of physical capacities and helps to maintain a good state of health. For people with intellectual disabilities, it is a valuable tool that stimulates their latent abilities, contributes to their educational or sporting process and allows enjoyment and recreation.
The present effort contributes to the teaching of swimming, systematizing a method based on physical principles such as those used by Halliwick, pedagogical principles such as behaviorism and classical educational theories such as Jean Piaget.
Psychomotor and psychological peculiarities of individuals in intellectual disability status were taken into account and didactic adaptations were proposed that would help a better control of positions and movements in order to achieve the main objective: to learn to swim.
Fifteen people of both genders, aged between 10 and 25 years of the different special education centers of the city of Cuenca, participated in this work and belong to the Club of Sport Adapted for People with Intellectual Disabilities of the Province of Azuay Amphibious.
The results together with the conclusions and recommendations of this excellent work were analyzed and exposed in the final chapter, thus determining the effectiveness of the present methodological process.

Achig Balarezo, José Francisco
The main objective of the following thesis was to design and run a program focused on learning and practicing Chess for older residents, who belong to the elderly attention center of the Ecuadorian Social Security Institute (IESS) of Cuenca, through a workshop held from February to May 2015. The main purpose was to better the quality of life of the participants, taking advantage of the many benefits of playing Chess, especially for human intellectual capacity. We also meant to promote the game as recreational activity for the elderly.
This was achieved using the empiric deductive method, which allowed us to build empiric knowledge through the initial evaluation, applying an experimental Pre-test – Post-test procedure (MoCA test and a test on Chess knowledge) to an 8 person sample of a population of approximately 2,500 people.
The results obtained through the MoCa test showed the augmentation of cognitive capacities related to playing chess, for example: identification 7%, memory 30%, repetition 12% and also within concentration, attention and calculation. The conclusions showed that, as a result of systemization, pacification and the use of the right methodology; the participants were able to learn to play Chess and, in addition, have fun, benefiting of its practice to better their quality of life.

Brito Parra, Jorge Eduardo
The present research was developed in the "Santa María de la Esperanza" foundation, El Nido home geriatric shelter and aimed to implement a program of moderate physical activity aimed at older adults, with the purpose of improving their physical condition and quality of life. Prior to the design of the moderate physical activity program, functional capacity and physical condition were measured, using the Barthel Index (IB) and the Senior Fitness Test (SFT), respectively. The designed program lasted 12 weeks and focused on improving the strength, flexibility, aerobic endurance and balance of the 25 elderly participants. Finally, the physical condition of the participants after the application of the designed program was evaluated, applying the SFT again and analyzing the results of the before and after. The IBM SPSS Statistics 20 program was used to analyze the data.
The results of the application of the IB to the elderly participants revealed, in a general way, that they have moderate dependency to perform ten basic activities of daily life (ADL), achieving a lower performance in activities such as bathing, dressing and undressing, which It was concluded that it is due to the care received in this institution.
On the other hand, the results referring to the analysis of the SFT before and after the application of the program of moderate physical activity, revealed that in all the trial of the test there were significant increases, that is to say, there was an increase in muscle strength, flexibility, aerobic resistance and balance of all the elderly participants, which shows that the program of moderate physical activity designed and applied, improved the physical conditions of the elderly, allowing this so that they improve their quality of life, by improving their physical condition and therefore be active and independent individuals.

Illescas Larco, Ariel Fernando
Rivera Altamirano, Edwin Alejandro
Vidal Valencia, Tonny Efrén
The present research is a descriptive study that aimed to analyze different programs and
scientific articles on physical activity directed at developing strength and balance by means
of a bibliographic review for the recommendation of its practice in the elderly. For this, a
bibliographic review and a critical understanding of the most current state of the art on the
subject was developed, the Scimago tool was used as a means of analysis, making use of
review indicators such as: the rankin of the Best Magazines related to the subject of research,
rankin from countries with the largest number of related journals, rankin from continents
with publication media about medicine and physical activity and the relationship of
publications in quartiles to the subject of analysis; In this context, the Scimago index made
it possible to identify that there is enough information in relation to the subject around the
world and the main studies with the largest publication media in quartile 1 regarding the SJR
measurement. As a result, the types of exercises for the elderly were determined, which were
divided into four groups: resistance exercises, muscle-strengthening exercises, balance
exercises; and, elasticity exercises, with established times of 30 minutes minimum and 60
minutes maximum with a periodicity of three days a week.

Coronel Segovia, Erick Ismael
Loor Naula, John Sebastián
Tacuri Peláez, Elsa Leonor
The purpose of this study of bibliographic review was to analyze the
importance of postural hygiene and the realization of active breaks, in addition to
supporting the theoretical elements that speak about active breaks and skeletal muscle
disorders in workers both in the administrative area and in work that require physical
strength, the publications were systematically searched in different databases, without
restriction of language in the vast majority from the year 2010, applying selection criteria
which were previously established, a total of 11 articles were chosen. The results of the
analysis of these articles show that active pauses have positive effects on skeletal muscles
disorders (MSD), relieving pain and discomfort in the main areas such as shoulders, neck
and back, although there was also a discrepancy compared to articles. who mention that
after a few months there were no positive effects and even some participants had a
regression of these benefits despite continuing with active breaks, this is attributed to the
fact that the same exercises are always repeated over a long period of time. In conclusion,
active breaks are beneficial for the prevention of MSDs, but it should be taken into
account that the exercises should be varied every 3 months to have long-term results.

Pino Arias, Paulina Michelle
Brito Vásquez, Vicente Enrique
This graduation paper studies the behavior and evolution of the aerobic – anaerobic resistance capacity as result of the application of intermittent – interval training methodology during a competition stage, in a second category soccer team. The study is about the measurement of lactic acid accumulation levels, and his relation with other physiological factors as cardiac frequency reached and, in the case of physical evaluations, VO2 max. of each player. The control process goes on before (on initial physical evaluations), during (on training weeks) and after (on final physical evaluations) the competition. This research pretends to know the effects that the proposed training methodology causes in this particular kind of soccer teams.
The project uses five chapters for its development; the first one is about all the biological elements that participate in the energy cycle and each one of their functions especially during the exercise. The second chapter pretends the comprehension of soccer physiological features and contains the proposal of Intermintent – interval training methodology. The third chapter is the application of the proposal and describes the methodology of each stage involved in the research process. Fourth Chapter contains statistical analysis of obtained results and the discussion about exposed theories. Finally fifth chapter exposes the conclusions get from this graduation research.

Barreto Andrade, Jorge Antonio
In the present project, university students participated between the ages of 18 and 25 years old. Their objective was to determine the level of physical activity and their relationship with overweight. The sample consisted of students enrolled in Physical Culture, which 50% were males and 50% females. For the study, the IMC variable was used and two internationally validated questionnaires were applied, the IPAQ and GPAQ, that are used to measure the level of physical activity. According to the OMS physical inactivity, it is the fourth risk factor for world mortality (6% of deaths registered worldwide), for which reason we want to do an analysis on how students of the University of Cuenca are regarding to physical activity and overweight, since this is one of the first to manifest itself due to physical inactivity.
In the study completed it was proven that university students in its great majority are found on a high level of AF, however a significant percentage are those that have a low/ inactive level.

Carrasco Paguay, Ariolfo
Guarquila Méndez, Hugo Adrián
Barreto Andrade, Jorge Antonio
This research has an analytical, correlational, and transversal approach,
cataloged in this way, since an association among variables is sought. This
investigation used two techniques: the body mass index and the HERZCO method,
both facilitated the collection of information. The first technique allowed us to know
the body mass of the selected students, whereas the second one provided
information about the foot types of the participants through the analysis of the
FOTOPODOGRAMA. The population of this study consisted of 270 teenagers from
“Víctor Gerardo Aguilar” Educational Institution, with ages ranging from 12 to 14
years old. From this group, 34 students participated in this investigation: 13 boys
and 21 girls, aged between 12 years 0 months and 14 years 9 months. To carry out
the statistical analysis the corresponding register of the height, weight, and footprint
was made. The statistical analysis was performed using the SPSS Statistics
software, version 20; meanwhile, for the plantar footprint the KINOVEA software was
used.
An inverse relationship was revealed in both feet, which indicates that the higher the
value of a person’s BMI (Body Mass Index) is, the lower the value of the Hernández
Corvo index will be. There was a greater existence of flat feet in the overweight and
obesity group, finding a predominance of flat feet in the left foot of the participants

Coraisaca Inga, Luis Octavio
Chalco Chalco, Bryan Ricardo
Varela Solano, Ramiro Xavier
In physical education, warm-up is a series of preparatory physical exercises
before starting a more intense physical activity. The objective of this research work is to
design and apply a general and specific warm-up program in physical education classes
according to the essential skills of the 4 main curricular blocks for the elementary, middle
and upper sub-levels of EGB of the Vicente Rocafuerte, Andrés Guritave and Carlos
Mata Coronel educational units of the rural parish of Taday, Azogues, Cañar Province.
It is of a pre-experimental type, so there is no control group and there is only an
intervention group made up of students from the mentioned educational units and with
students from 7 to 15 years of age who are in the elementary, middle and higher sub-
levels of Basic General Education. The intervention was developed during normal class
hours in each institution, for 6 weeks with 1 class per week for each curricular block and
sublevel. Before and after the intervention, students filled out a Cspo questionnaire (pre
and post) to evaluate their satisfaction and level of participation. The data obtained were
coded numerically for their respective analysis through descriptive statistics with
Microsoft Excel software, obtaining averages and absolute and relative frequencies. A
paired data T-test was also used with SPSS STADISTIC software to show whether there
was a positive effect on student satisfaction and participation. The effect of the program
was evaluated resulting in a significant change in satisfaction and participation, on
average, there was a change from 2.39 to 3.30 approximately in the middle and
elementary sublevel students, while in the upper sublevel, the significant differences are
very minimal. It can be evidenced that the warm-ups for this sublevel were performed
adequately. With the present study, it was possible to conclude that the intervention
program regarding warm-up does benefit the teachers in charge of this area, even more
so for teachers who are not physical education specialists but who are in charge of
teaching this subject.

Nivicela Morocho, Carlos Xavier
Tacuri Peláez, Elsa Leonor
This research project is called "Physical-recreational program to improve the level of physical
condition of adolescents in the superior basic sub-level of the Eugenio Espejo educational unit",
which the objective was to apply a physical-recreational program to improve the level of physical
condition of adolescents in the Upper Basic sublevel of the Eugenio Espejo Educational Unit the
intervention study of a quasi-experimental type with a quantitative approach had a first phase in
which a pretest was applied with the "Alpha Fitness" battery to evaluate the physical condition,
later it was applied a physical-recreational program with a duration of 3 months, three times a
week with a duration of one hour thirty minutes each class, later the post-test was developed and
finally the analyzes were made in the Spss program where a comparative study was made and
also an analysis between gender resulting in 29.4% of the female being overweight and the 85.7%
of the male being in normal weight this in reference to the BMI in the pre-test and with the
evaluation referring to the post test it was observed that 11.8% of the female is overweight and
92.3% of the male are in normal weight. Referring to the Vo2 of the students, notable changes
were observed in their Vo2 levels, this in turns highlights the positive results obtained in the
jumping test with feet together. In conclusion, the recreational physical program in adolescents in
the female showed more significant changes than the male with the respect to BMI, while in the
maximum Vo2 and the jump of the feet together in the male had better results in relation to the
female.

Chérrez Muñoz, Christian Eduardo
Peralta León, Diego Armando
Jara Bermeo, Johanna Priscila
This study focuses on a literature review whose main objective is to determine the
physical and psychological benefits obtained by administrative personnel exposed to
work stress, from designed recreational physical activity programs. In order to properly
support the study, a review of articles in the well-known electronic databases (Scielo -
Frontiers - Scopus - Dialnet - Google Scholar) was carried out, and these documents were
transferred through the Mendeley platform, which were archived for the respective
revisions. In addition, articles in English and Spanish were taken into account, from 2010-
2020, according to the selection criteria, a total of 9 scientific documents were found,
which were organized through a table with the most relevant data and content of the
publications, thus showing physical benefits with positive results in the reduction of
musculoskeletal discomfort, as for the psychological aspect, the improvement in
productive performance, job satisfaction, reduction of work stress and emotional stability
is reflected. Finally, it should be noted that the importance of the practice of physical
activity in the work environment is seen as a way to improve their social and integral
lifestyle

Peralta Carpio, Jessica Florencia
Saula Idrovo, Byron Gonzalo
Andrade Tenesaca, Dolores Susana
Diabetes Mellitus type 2 is a non-communicable disease that has increased in recent years,
affecting people over 40 years of age, decreasing the quality of life and physical condition,
therefore the objective of this research is to evaluate the effect of a training programme on
the quality of life and physical condition aimed at older adults with Diabetes Mellitus Type
II. It is quasi-experimental experimental research, based on the EsDQOL questionnaire to
evaluate the quality of life of the elderly and the application of the Senior Fitness Test
Battery that evaluates the physical condition of the elderly from 60 to 94 years of age.
The results were reached employing a descriptive statistical analysis and the study variables
were evaluated to establish the correlation. Finally, after analysing the theoretical and
methodological foundations, it is concluded that the quality of life and physical condition of
the elderly presented significant improvements in the social and physical aspects of the
participants.

Background: The physical condition allows the individual to function independently in all the
contexts in which they develop (Ordóñez Hernández et al., 2019). The studies by García and
Álvarez-Álvarez mention that university students who enter the Pedagogy of Physical Activity
and Sports career show high levels of sedentary lifestyle, presenting low values in the different
components of physical condition in the variables studied. For this reason, it is important to
know the physical condition of those who enter the Pedagogy of Physical Activity and Sport
career. Objective: Evaluate the physical condition of the students who enter the Pedagogy of
Physical Activity and Sports career at the University of Cuenca 2021-2022. Methodology:
Study with a descriptive cross-sectional design, qualitative type; the sampling used is nonprobabilistic for convenience; The study population will be made up of students enrolled in the
first cycle. The Eurofit test battery was applied to assess physical condition in two instances;
For the statistical analysis, the statistical program IBM SPSS version 25 was used. Results:
In the resistance test (course navette) there is a higher value in medium and very low levels,
in speed (plate hitting test) there is 100% of students in levels below the average; while in the
balance (flamenco) the students lean towards good above the average. Conclusions: Most
of the physical qualities studied are average, only two physical qualities proved to be below
average, as well as plate hitting (upper limb speed) and course navette (aerobic endurance).
It was evidenced that there was no significant variation when comparing the tests of the
posttest stage with the pretest stage.
