| Abstract: | The corpus of this study consists of eighteen sections, which make up the novel Sleep and rain. Here we wanted to demonstrate that the transfer of these two parallel worlds, reality and fantasy, is possible and more common than most imagine. After hearing the confessions of the author in an interview prior to our study, we tried to explain the intent of Jorge Davila to include these resources in his work, that is, to determine where and why these oscillations are present.
Finally we have also established that metalepsis not only present in reality and fantasy dream and rain, but also between the characters, narrators, spaces, and texts of other authors evoked in the novel with arguments of different authors and from different eras. |
| Description: | El corpus central de este estudio está conformado por dieciocho apartados, que integran la novela El sueño y la lluvia. Aquí hemos querido demostrar que el traslado por estos dos mundos paralelos, el de la realidad y el de la fantasía, es posible y más común de lo que muchos podríamos imaginar. Luego de escuchar las confesiones del autor en una entrevista, previa a nuestro estudio, hemos intentado explicar la intención de Jorge Dávila al incluir estos recursos en su obra; es decir, determinar dónde y por qué, están presentes esas oscilaciones.
Finalmente hemos establecido también que la metalepsis no solo se presenta en la realidad y la fantasía de El sueño y la lluvia, sino también entre los personajes, los narradores, los espacios, y en textos de otros autores evocados en la novela, con argumentos de diferentes autores y de diversas épocas. |
