| Abstract: | In Graf&Pack graphic industry, the lack of control of raw material inventories has
repercussions on the inefficiency of the purchasing processes and customer
dissatisfaction. For this reason, the purpose of this degree work is to establish a
proposal for an inventory management system. The research is descriptive and
involves both qualitative and quantitative data in its development. From the
proposed system, the 35 items of greatest relevance to the company were
selected, which used the Winters model and exponential smoothing as
forecasting methods. With the collection of the above information, the EOQ model
and the reorder point were applied to establish the inventory policy for each item
identified.
The implementation of this system represents a significant economic advantage
for the company, since, when comparing the total cost of the proposal with that
of the traditional way of keeping inventories, the first option is more convenient.
With the implementation of the inventory management system proposed in this
study, 27.72% of the current total cost can be saved. Finally, the redesign of the
storage area, together with the coding strategy, reduces the search time for
materials and generates efficiency in the production process |
| Description: | En Graf&Pack industria gráfica, la falta de control de los inventarios de materia
prima, repercute en la ineficiencia de los procesos de compras e insatisfacción
de los clientes. Por tal razón, el presente trabajo de titulación, tiene como fin
establecer una propuesta de un sistema de administración de inventarios. La
investigación es de carácter descriptivo, e involucra tanto datos cualitativos como
cuantitativos en su desarrollo. A partir del sistema propuesto, se seleccionó a los
35 ítems de mayor relevancia para la empresa, los cuales utilizaron el modelo de
Winters y el suavizado exponencial como métodos de pronóstico. Con la
recopilación de la información anterior, se aplicó el modelo EOQ y el punto de
reorden para establecer la política de inventario por cada ítem identificado.
La implementación de este sistema representa una ventaja económica
significativa para la empresa, puesto que, al comparar el costo total de la
propuesta, con el de la forma tradicional de llevar los inventarios, la primera
opción resulta más conveniente. Con la ejecución del sistema de gestión de
inventarios planteado en este estudio, se consigue ahorrar el 27,72% del costo
total actual. Para finalizar, el re-diseño de la zona de almacenaje, conjuntamente
con la estrategia de codificación, reducen el tiempo de búsqueda de los
materiales y generan eficiencia en el proceso productivo |
