| dc.description | El zénit gingival es un importante componente de la sonrisa, por lo que, el objetivo del presente estudio fue caracterizar el zénit, línea y nivel gingival en incisivos, caninos y premolares maxilares de los estudiantes de la Facultad de Odontología de la Universidad de Cuenca. En modelos digitalizados, de 51 participantes (30 mujeres y 21 hombres), se pudo constatar que los zénits gingivales presentaron una tendencia de dislocarse hacia distal de los ejes longitudinales dentarios (0,42mm – 0.90mm), siendo que solamente en los incisivos centrales, las participantes de sexo femenino presentaron cantidades significativamente superiores de desplazamiento. Las líneas gingivales más frecuentes fueron la ascendente y descendente, en los sectores anterior y posterior, respectivamente. El nivel gingival tipo I fue el más frecuente, con una distancia promedio entre el zénit del incisivo lateral y la línea gingival de 0,82mm; sin que existan diferencias significativas con relación al sexo. | dc.description.abstract | The gingival zenith is an important component of the smile, so the objective of the present study was to characterize the zenith, line and gingival level in maxillary incisors, canines and premolars of the students of the School of Dentistry of the University of Cuenca. In digitalized models, of 51 participants (30 women and 21 men), it was found that the gingival zeniths showed a tendency to dislocate towards the distal longitudinal axes (0.42mm - 0.90mm), being that only in the central incisors, the female participants presented significantly higher amounts of displacement. The most frequent gingival lines were ascending and descending, in the anterior and posterior sectors, respectively.
