dc.description | El turismo cultural ha supuesto una de las nuevas modalidades de turismo que mayor crecimiento ha tenido en los últimos años a nivel internacional. En América Latina, destinos de gran relevancia, como el Machu Pichu, los sitios de la cultura azteca o la Isla de Pascua, se han consolidado en los últimos años, junto a la proliferación de destinos emergentes, como es el caso de Cuenca (Ecuador). A esta ciudad llegan cada año decenas de miles de turistas en busca de su patrimonio, cultura o gastronomía. Sin embargo, no existen estudios que indaguen en una cuestión tan fundamental como los distintos perfiles de estos visitantes. Este artículo, a partir de la explotación de los resultados de una encuesta a turistas, propone una división entre diferentes tipologías de turistas en base a sus motivaciones y al peso de la cultura a la hora de realizar el viaje, y analiza sus características internas. Los resultados, que abren nuevas líneas de investigación, muestran diferencias sustanciales entre turistas culturales, turistas culturales circunstanciales y turistas no culturales. | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | Cultural tourism is one of the new forms of tourism growth has increased in recent years at international level. In Latin America, destinations of great importance, such as Machu Picchu, the sites of Aztec culture or Easter Island, have been consolidated in recent years, with the proliferation of emerging destinations, such as Cuenca (Ecuador). Thousands of tourists come every year to this city in search of their heritage, culture and gastronomy. However, no studies inquire such a fundamental issue as the different profiles of these visitors. This article, from the exploitation of the results of a survey of tourists, proposes a division between different types of tourists and analyzes its distinctive features. The results, which open new lines of research, show substantial differences between cultural tourists, circumstantial cultural tourists and not cultural tourists. | es_ES |
