| en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Process management has gained popularity in organizations worldwide due to its ability to improve efficiency and effectiveness. Within this context, two key approaches have emerged: the Business Process Management (BPM) methodology and the ISO 9001:2015 management system. The main objective of this study is to carry out a comparative investigation between the two approaches in order to determine the order of priority and the degree of complementarity in the implementation of process management. To achieve this objective, an exclusive bibliometric analysis was carried out to segment and analyze the documents found, focusing on the most relevant variables for the research. Special attention was given to those articles that provided the greatest value in terms of contributions and findings. The results obtained revealed that both the ISO-BPM and BPM-ISO implementation sequences have presented significant benefits. However, considering the technological advancement and increasing automation, it is advisable to initially adopt a BPM approach. This is due to its wide scope and integration with technologies that significantly accelerate and maximize results. All this has allowed an efficient quality management in organizations that do not have the ISO 9001 system implemented. In relation to the degree of complementarity, it has been concluded that BPM becomes stronger as processes are digitized. Nowadays, processes require a more holistic and focused orientation in their management, and BPM is presented as a solution that provides that comprehensive perspective. | en_US |
