| Abstract: | This paper aims to analyze the impact communicative language teaching techniques have on the development of speaking skills in high school students. This research was carried out with the participation of 12 English teachers and 234 students. The data collection was done through the application of a survey. This instrument included 10 questions and it was validated by three experts. The purpose of the survey was to gather information that enable to have a close panorama of the two variables in the English classrooms. The results were thoughtfully analyzed and methodically tabulated. The Student´s T-test was used to verify the established hypothesis, and the results indicated that communicative language teaching techniques have a positive impact on the development of English as a Foreign Language (EFL) speaking skills. Furthermore, the findings led to conclude that most students agree that they learn English best through interactive activities because they provide students with opportunities to interact using the target language. As part of the research, 20 communicative techniques were implemented, proving to promote engagement and effective oral production in the classroom. |
| Description: | Este trabajo tiene como objetivo analizar el impacto que tienen las técnicas comunicativas de enseñanza del lenguaje en el desarrollo de la habilidad oral en estudiantes de secundaria. Esta investigación se llevó a cabo con la participación de 12 profesores de inglés y 234 estudiantes. La recolección de datos se realizó mediante la aplicación de una encuesta. Este instrumento incluyó 10 preguntas y fue validado por tres expertos. El propósito de la encuesta fue recopilar información que permita tener un panorama cercano de las dos variables en las aulas de inglés. Los resultados se analizaron cuidadosamente y se tabularon metódicamente. Se utilizó la prueba T de Student para verificar la hipótesis establecida, y los resultados indicaron que las técnicas de enseñanza de la lengua comunicativa tienen un impacto positivo en el desarrollo de las habilidades orales del inglés como lengua extranjera (EFL). Además, los hallazgos llevaron a concluir que la mayoría de los estudiantes están de acuerdo en que aprenden inglés mejor a través de actividades interactivas porque brindan a los estudiantes oportunidades para interactuar usando el idioma de destino. Como parte de la investigación, se implementaron 20 técnicas comunicativas que demostraron promover el compromiso y la producción oral efectiva en el aula. |
