dc.description | El VIH/SIDA es un problema importante de salud pública a nivel mundial debido a los millones de vidas que ha cobrado. Actualmente se cuenta con la Prevención Combinada, una nueva estrategia que combina intervenciones biomédicas, comportamentales y estructurales, con la finalidad de reducir el número de nuevas infecciones alrededor del mundo. OBJETIVO GENERAL: Identificar los conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas de Médicos Posgradistas de la Universidad de Cuenca sobre prevención de VIH/SIDA. Cuenca. 2020. METODOLOGÍA: Se realizó un estudio observacional de corte transversal en el Centro de Posgrados de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de Cuenca. Considerando un universo de 224 estudiantes, obteniendo un tamaño muestral de 142. Se recolectó información mediante encuesta, los datos fueron tabulados usando Excel 2016 y SPSS v22 y se los presentó en tablas de frecuencia. RESULTADOS: De 142 estudiantes de posgrado de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de Cuenca, el 100% reconocen el uso de condón y el 95,1% la educación sexual integral como mecanismos de prevención. Un 70,4% no reconoce la profilaxis pre-exposición, y un 77,5%, la profilaxis post-exposición. El 61,3% refiere usar preservativo en sexo casual. El 5,6% indica el aislamiento de las personas seropositivas como medida preventiva. CONCLUSIONES: Mediante la recolección de datos, se determinó el nivel de conocimientos, actitudes y prácticas de los posgradistas de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad de Cuenca sobre Prevención Combinada de VIH/SIDA. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | SUMMARY: HIV/AIDS is a major public health problem worldwide due to the millions of lives it has claimed. Currently, there is the so-called Combined Prevention, a new strategy that combines biomedical, behavioral and structural interventions, in order to reduce the number of new infections around the world. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: Identify the knowledge, attitudes and practices of Postgraduate Doctors of the University of Cuenca on HIV/AIDS prevention. Cuenca. 2020. METHODOLOGY: An observational cross-sectional study was carried out at the Postgraduate Center of the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca. Considering a universe of 224 students, a sample size of 142 was obtained. The information was collected via survey, the data were tabulated using Excel 2016 and SPSS v22. and their results were presented in frequency tables. RESULTS: Of 142 graduate students from the Faculty of Medical Sciences of the University of Cuenca, 100% recognize the use of condoms and 95.1% comprehensive sexual education as prevention mechanisms. 70.4% do not recognize pre-exposure prophylaxis, and 77.5%, post-exposure prophylaxis. 61.3% refer to using a condom in casual sex. 5.6% indicate the isolation of seropositive people as a preventive measure.
