Diseño de un sistema de gestión ambiental para una industria cartonera

Abstract

The objective of this work is to design an Environmental Management System (EMS), which meets the requirements established by the international standard ISO 14001:2015, applied to a Cardboard Industry; which will allow the management of waste, pollution and environmental risks that occur along the production line and support areas of the company. For this purpose, a structured process was developed based on the four stages of the continuous improvement cycle (plan, do, check, and act). The process began with an initial diagnosis of the industry to ascertain its current environmental situation; following the diagnosis, the production and support processes were evaluated, and the significant environmental aspects were identified with the help of the Conessa Matrix. The results of the environmental assessment of the environmental aspects were used to establish the environmental objectives and goals to be achieved, together with actions to achieve them. Finally, in the support, operation and performance evaluation phases, instructions were developed that will serve as technical guidelines for a solid performance of the actions proposed and for consistent compliance with the environmental regulations issued by the control entities, so that the implementation of the Environmental Management System designed will achieve favorable results for the organization.
