dc.description | Introducción: El sobrepeso y la obesidad se asocian a múltiples condiciones y factores que afecta directamente a la salud de las personas. La obesidad es un factor de riesgo mayor e independiente para el desarrollo de hipertensión arterial y enfermedad cardiovascular. La hipertensión arterial conocida como el asesino silente contribuye al desarrollo de enfermedad cardiovascular, infarto y mortalidad prematura. Metodología: Se desarrolló un estudio observacional, descriptivo de corte transversal con una muestra de 173 pacientes adultos atendidos en la consulta externa del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso durante el 2019. Los datos fueron recogidos mediante un formulario de datos según las variables sociodemográficas, estado nutricional, cintura abdominal y tensión arterial. Los datos se analizaron con el programa SPSS v.15 mediante estadística descriptiva. El estudio fue aprobado por un Comité de Ética. Resultados: La edad más frecuente fue de 45-64 años 38.2%, con predominio de las mujeres 64.2%. La diabetes 32.4% fue la comorbilidad más frecuente. El 29.5% tuvo sobrepeso y el 43.9% obesidad. Hubo un 35.8% de pacientes con hipertensión grado 1 y 11.0% con hipertensión grado 2. La hipertensión fue más frecuente en los pacientes con sobrepeso y obesidad. Se encontró asociación estadísticamente significativa con la edad p=0.007. Conclusiones: La frecuencia de pacientes hipertensos es mayor entre los que tienen sobrepeso y obesidad. | en_US |
dc.description.abstract | Introduction: Overweight and obesity are associated with multiple conditions and factors that directly affect people's health. Obesity is a major and independent risk factor for the development of high blood pressure and cardiovascular disease. High blood pressure known as the silent killer contributes to the development of cardiovascular disease, heart attack, and premature mortality. Methodology: an observational, descriptive cross-sectional study was carried out with a sample of 173 adult patients attended in the outpatient clinic of the Vicente Corral Moscoso Hospital during 2019. The data were collected using a data form according to the sociodemographic variables, nutritional status, abdominal waist and blood pressure. The data was analyzed with the SPSS v.15 program using descriptive statistics. The study was approved by an Ethics Committee. Results: the most frequent age was 45-64 years 38.2%, with a predominance of women 64.2%. Diabetes 32.4% was the most frequent comorbidity. 29.5% were overweight and 43.9% were obese. There were 35.8% of patients with grade 1 hypertension and 11.0% with grade 2 hypertension. Hypertension was more frequent in overweight and obese patients. A statistically significant association was found with age p = 0.007. Conclusions: the frequency of hypertensive patients is higher among those who are overweight and obese. | en_US |
