| dc.description | El presente trabajo de titulación explora el Paleoarte, una rama de la Ilustración Científica que representa artísticamente temas relacionados con la Paleontología, principalmente animales ya extintos. Partiendo de esta cuestión, se ha tomado en cuenta la evolución de los cetáceos, animales cuyos antepasados fueron terrestres y sufrieron una serie de transformaciones para adaptarse a una nueva vida en un entorno marino. Para personificar este suceso, se ha considerado pertinente la invención de criaturas híbridas, entre cetáceos y humanos, a modo de fósiles, que ilustren un supuesto regreso de la humanidad a los océanos, como una alegoría de la dualidad animalidad-humanidad encarnada dentro de cada ser vivo. A estas creaciones se les ha agrupado dentro de un bestiario fósil, elaborado con el estilo de los manuscritos medievales ilustrados; así, se logra evidenciar que, a partir de la ciencia, se pueden generar obras artísticas que capten la atención del espectador y sirvan como un nexo entre arte y ciencia. | en_US |
| dc.description.abstract | This degree work explores Paleoart, a branch of Scientific Illustration that artistically represents subjects related to Paleontology, particularly extinct animals. Based on this premise, the evolution of cetaceans has been taken into account because they are animals whose ancestors were terrestrial and had to undergo a series of transformations to live in a marine environment. To personify this event, hybrid creatures, between cetaceans and humans, have been constructed as fossils. They illustrate a supposed return of humanity into the oceans, as an allegory of the animality-humanity duality embodied within each living being. These creations have been grouped within a fossil bestiary, made in the style of medieval illuminated manuscripts; thus, it is possible to demonstrate that, from science, artistic works can be generated to capture the attention of the viewer and serve as a link between art and science. | en_US |
