| dc.description | En las sociedades contemporáneas el embellecimiento es impuesto como un deber de las mujeres, estableciéndose un modelo de belleza caucásico como la norma a seguir. En este contexto, el mercado brinda una variedad de prácticas estéticas, entre ellas la cirugía estética, la cual se promociona en los medios de comunicación como una alternativa para embellecer, sin embargo, no se habla de los riesgos para la salud. Este trabajo examina las noticias sobre mujeres fallecidas por cirugías estéticas, a través de un análisis de discurso con perspectiva de género. Dichas noticias construyen representaciones estereotipadas sobre las víctimas que las culpabilizan de sus muertes, invisibilizando el problema social y de salud pública. Palabras claves: Belleza. | dc.description.abstract | In contemporary societies, beautification is imposed as a women’s duty, establishing in this way a Caucasian beauty model as the rule to follow. In this context, the market offers a variety of esthetic practices, among them aesthetic surgery which is advertised through the mass media as an alternative to beautify, however, health risks are not taken into account. This work examines the news about dead women caused by aesthetic surgery through a speech analysis with a gender perspective.
