Prevalencia de depresión, ansiedad y factores asociados en trabajadores de lácteos, Cuenca 2018.

Abstract

Background: Psychiatric disorders are of growing importance in the social, personal and especially professional field. This affects the performance, the quality of work, and what each person offers, reflecting it in a psychosocial imbalance, which encompasses the concept of mental health.

Objective: To determine the prevalence of depression and anxiety, as well as its associated factors in dairy workers, Cuenca 2018.

Methodology: Quantitative, analytical cross-sectional study with 151 dairy workers in Cuenca 2018. The SRQ-20 Test was applied. The associated risk factors were analyzed. The information was analyzed with SPSS v19. Frequencies and percentages were calculated. Chi square and Odds ratio (95% CI) were used to measure the association between mental disorders and associated factors. Each result of p less than 0.05 is statistically significant.

Results: The prevalence of Depression 4.6% and Anxiety 19.2% was lower than expected. The study population is mostly male 87.4%, younger than 45 years 82.1%, most married 60.3%. They work with greater frequency in General Plant 47, 7% and Logistics 27,2%. Few patients have comorbidities 7.3%. Those who work for a year or more presented anxiety at 23.1%, the risk of this group is 8.7 times more, presenting an OR = 8.731, CI = 1,138-66,997, the only variable with a statistically significant association with p = 0.014.

Conclusions: The prevalence of Depression and Anxiety was lower than expected and the most influential factor was the working time of more than one year
