dc.description | Objetivo: determinar prevalencia de constipación crónica funcional y factores asociados en escolares y adolescentes atendidos en consulta de Gastropediatría del Hospital ¨José Carrasco Arteaga¨, Cuenca año 2017. Materiales y métodos: estudio descriptivo transversal, en niños de 6 a 15 años del área de consulta externa de Gastropediatría del Hospital ¨José Carrasco Arteaga¨, que estén acompañados de un representante legal. Se obtuvieron datos de 320 pacientes y posteriormente analizados en el programa SPSS. Resultados: fueron atendidos de 1.152 niños en Gastropediatría, 320 consultaron por constipación y 263 (82.2%) fueron diagnosticados de constipación crónica funcional siendo la prevalencia del 22.8%; el 47.5% pertenecieron al sexo masculino, presentándose con mayor frecuencia en los escolares, procedentes del área urbana (67.5%), sin antecedentes familiares (92.2%). En relación a los factores de riesgo asociados se presentó en el 52.5% de las mujeres y la mayoría fueron sedentarios (68.8%), con peso normal (45.6%), consumen menos de 10 gramos de fibra (89.4%) e ingieren menos de 1500cc de líquidos al día (97.7%). Además, se determinó asociación negativa con el sedentarismo y menor consumo de líquidos, no asociación con sexo y asociación positiva con sobrepeso/obesidad y bajo consumo de fibra al día. Se determinó significancia estadística con sedentarismo y no significancia estadística con sexo, sobrepeso/obesidad, consumo de fibra e ingesta de líquidos en un día. Conclusiones: la prevalencia de constipación crónica funcional en niños resalta en la consulta de Gastropediatría y se asocia con factores de riesgo como el sobrepeso/obesidad y el bajo consumo de fibra. | es_ES |
dc.description.abstract | Objective: to determine the prevalence of chronic functional constipation and associated factors in schoolchildren and adolescents attended in Gastropediatrics of "José Carrasco Arteaga" Hospital, Cuenca, 2017. Materials and methods: cross-sectional descriptive study, in children from 6 to 15 years of age in the outpatient area of Gastropediatrics of the Hospital ¨José Carrasco Arteaga¨, who are accompanied by a legal representative. Data were obtained from 320 patients and later analyzed in the SPSS program. Results: 1,152 children were treated in Gastropediatrics, 320 consulted for constipation and 263 (82.2%) were diagnosed with functional chronic constipation, with a prevalence of 22.8%; 47.5% belonged to the masculine sex, appearing with greater frequency in the students, coming from the urban area (67.5%), without family antecedents (92.2%). Regarding the associated risk factors, it was present in 52.5% of the women and the majority were sedentary (68.8%), with normal weight (45.6%), consumed less than 10 grams of fiber (89.4%) and ingested less than 1500cc of liquids per day (97.7%). In addition, a negative association with sedentary lifestyle and lower fluid consumption, no association with sex and positive association with overweight / obesity and low daily fiber consumption was determined. Statistical significance was determined with sedentary lifestyle and no statistical significance with sex, overweight / obesity, fiber consumption and fluid intake in one day. Conclusions: the prevalence of chronic functional constipation in children stands out in the Gastropediatric consultation and is associated with risk factors such as overweight / obesity and low fiber consumption | es_ES |
