Abstract: | BACKGROUND: Having a person with motor disability at home implies a problem that also affects their caregiver, for this reason, this research is aimed at determining the overload that he experiences when performing his work, because a great effort is required physical and emotional, which can be an indicator of stress.
From the early intervention point of view, the family and the family environment of a patient is the fundamental basis for its development, for this reason is essential the good state of health of the members that conform the family group and even more of the caregiver of a person with cerebral palsy. OBJECTIVE: To determine the degree of overload of caregivers of people with cerebral palsy who attend the Special Education Institutions IPCA and STEPHEN HAWKING, through the Zarit Scale.
MATERIAL AND METHODS: The research is quantitative, descriptive, and transversal. We evaluated the degree of overload of the caregivers of people with cerebral palsy who attend the Special Education Institutions IPCA and Stephen Hawking of the city of Cuenca using the Zarit scale. The obtained data were collected in Microsoft Excel and the relation of these with some variables was determined by means of the statistical program IBM SPSS version 24 and for decide the statistical significance of the variables to be studied the CHI SQUARE test was used.
RESULTS: In the present investigation we obtained as results, that the caregivers of the patients with cerebral palsy were mostly female (66.1%), young adults (56.2%), of high school (33.1%). %), and nuclear family (40.5%). The results were used for the purposes of this investigation |
Description: | ANTECEDENTES: Tener en casa a una persona con discapacidad motora, implica una problemática que también afecta a su cuidador, por tal motivo la presente investigación está encaminada a determinar la sobrecarga que el cuidador experimenta al cumplir su labor, debido al gran esfuerzo físico y emocional que emplea.
Desde el punto de vista de la intervención temprana, la familia y el entorno familiar de un paciente es la base fundamental para su desarrollo, por este motivo es imprescindible el buen estado de salud de los miembros que conforman el grupo familiar y más aún del cuidador de una persona con parálisis cerebral. OBJETIVO: Determinar el grado de sobrecarga de los cuidadores de personas con parálisis cerebral que asisten a las Instituciones de Educación Especial IPCA y STEPHEN HAWKING, mediante la Escala de Zarit.
MATERIAL Y MÉTODOS: La investigación es de tipo cuantitativo, descriptiva, y transversal. Se evaluó el grado de sobrecarga de los cuidadores de las personas con parálisis cerebral que asisten a las Instituciones de Educación Especial IPCA y Stephen Hawking de la ciudad de Cuenca mediante la escala de Zarit. Los datos obtenidos se recopilaron en Microsoft Excel y se determinó la relación de estos con algunas variables, mediante el programa estadístico IBM SPSS versión 24 gratuito y para determinar la significancia estadística se utilizó la prueba CHI CUADRADO.
RESULTADOS: En la presente investigación se obtuvieron como resultados, que los cuidadores de los pacientes con parálisis cerebral la mayoría fueron del género femenino (66,1%), adultos jóvenes (56,2%), de instrucción académica secundaria (33,1%), con residencia en el sector urbano (64,5%) y familia tipo nuclear (40,5%).
