| dc.description | ANTECEDENTES: La diabetes mellitus es un trastorno endocrinológico con una creciente prevalencia e incidencia a nivel mundial, caracterizada por aumento de los niveles de glucosa en sangre, a consecuencia de defectos en la secreción y /o acción de insulina, siendo la primera causa de amputación no traumática, pues el riesgo de amputación se ve aumentado entre 10 a 28 veces (1). OBJETIVO GENERAL: Determinar la Incidencia de Diabetes Mellitus en comerciantes de la Asociación 9 de Enero, Cuenca 2018. METODOLOGÍA: Estudio de tipo descriptivo y de corte transversal, se realizó en un universo conformado por 109 comerciantes pertenecientes a la Asociación 9 de Enero, con una muestra equivalente al universo. Se solicitó la firma del consentimiento informado, se aplicó una encuesta y se procedió a la respectiva toma de muestra sanguínea y procesamiento de la misma. Una vez obtenidos los resultados se realizó la correspondiente tabulación mediante el programa SPSS 23. | dc.description.abstract | BACKGROUND: Diabetes mellitus is an endocrinological disorder with a growing prevalence and incidence worldwide, characterized by the increase of the concentration of glucose in the blood, because of the defects in insulin secretion and/or action. Being this the first cause of nontraumatic amputation, because of the risk of amputation has increased between 10 to 28 times. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To determine the incidence of diabetes mellitus in merchants of 9 de Enero Association, Cuenca 2018. METODOLOGY: Descriptive and cross-sectional study. This study has been done in a universe formed by 109 merchants from 9 de Enero Association, with a sample equivalent to the universe. A signature was requested for the informed consent. A survey was applied, and the corresponding blood sample was collected and processed. Once the results were obtained, the tabulation was carried out using the SPSS 23 program. RESULTS: The 1,8% from 100% of the merchants presented diabetes mellitus, the 11% percent were prediabetics and an 87,2% were normal. | es_ES |
