Ordenación territorial de la conurbación Cuenca Azogues

Abstract

The present thesis work approaches concepts and impacts of the conurbated processes in the territory, as well as analyzes their evolution. The Territorial Planning Plan for the Cuenca-Azogues Conurbation is drawn up based on sectoral diagnoses of the Physical Environment and Natural Resources, Population and Activities, Settling and Communication Channels, and Legal and Institutional Framework. The determination of the Integrated Diagnostic is based on the analysis of the reception capacity that the environmental units have, the activities that are developed and that could potentially be located in the study area, this process evidences the problems, but also the opportunities and strengths; With this, three scenarios were designed to visualize the future perception of the Conurbation according to assumptions. With the selection of a scenario we establish a system of objectives that allows us to reach the Objective Image of the study area. A planning aimed at ordering the territory requires a regulatory framework that regulates the use and occupation of land, in order to stop the growth of cities towards the periphery and rural areas. Finally, it is proposed to conserve existing natural resources, enhance productive activities and stop the advance of the urban sprawl.
