Estado de salud mental de niños, hijos de migrantes de la Unidad Educativa Fiscomisional “Mariana de Jesús”. Tambo 2017

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Migration is a social phenomenon that determines that many people leave their villages to go to different countries in search of new opportunities to improve their quality of life, producing unfavorable effects on the family structure and its members made visible in the impact on health mental school, negatively influencing the social and academic integration of the child reflected in self-esteem, difficulty in academic performance, emotional upheaval, etc.

GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To determine the state of mental health of the children of migrant parents of the Educational Unit "Marian of Jesús" of Tambo 2017.

METHODOLOGY: The research was quantitative, the cross-sectional descriptive study; the universe of 730, the sample for convenience 125 participants. Quantitative techniques interview, test application to assess mental health, family functionality. The processing of the information was done in the SPSS program version 24; for the analysis, descriptive statistics were used by means of frequencies and percentages.

RESULTS: They show that, 55.20% generalized anxiety, 88.8% panic disorder, 76.8% separation anxiety, 57.6% social phobia and 62.4% school fovea, 44% have low self-esteem, 56% have high self-esteem, 96% bullying relational and 4% severe bullying, 77.6% have normal functionality and 22.4% have families with moderate dysfunction.

CONCLUSIONS: The study shows the correlation between mental health status of students with migration, family functionality, producing migration negative impacts on mental health.
