| Abstract: | ABSTRACT
The following study was conducted in the city of Cuenca in the Union of Professional Drivers of the Baños parish, whose purpose was to determine the hearing threshold of drivers. The hearing loss due to noise exposure is increasingly frequent due to several factors such as the intensity generated by the means of transport, the exposure time in the environment in which they work as drivers, etc. (one).
GENERAL OBJECTIVE: To assess the auditory threshold of the drivers of the Union of Professional Drivers of the Baños parish.
METHODOLOGY: A descriptive, cross-sectional, prospective study was carried out. The universe consisted of 100 professional drivers from 30 to 60 years of the drivers' union. The data obtained will be analyzed in the SPSS 22 program.
RESULTS: Through the application of auditory examinations to the drivers of the Union of Professional Drivers of the Baños parish, it was shown that 25% of the drivers presented hearing loss in the right ear, showing 16%, 7% and 2 % for mild, moderate and severe sensorineural hearing loss respectively and 44% in the left ear, showing mild sensorineural hearing loss (20%), moderate (15%) and severe hearing loss (9%), the age at which the hearing loss was more significant was from 41 years of age with 23% and the years that those who were more likely to have hearing loss was in drivers who worked more than 15 years. |
| Description: | El siguiente estudio se realizó en la ciudad de Cuenca en el Sindicato de Choferes Profesionales de la parroquia Baños, cuyo fin fue determinar el umbral auditivo de los conductores. La pérdida auditiva por exposición a ruido es cada vez más frecuente debido a varios factores como la intensidad que generan los medios de transporte, el tiempo de exposición en el ambiente en el cual trabajan como conductores, etc. (1).
OBJETIVO GENERAL: Valorar el umbral auditivo de los conductores del Sindicato de Choferes Profesionales de la parroquia Baños.
METODOLOGÍA: Se realizó un estudio de tipo descriptivo, transversal prospectivo, el universo estuvo conformado por 100 conductores profesionales de 30 a 60 años del sindicato de choferes. Los datos obtenidos serán analizados en el programa SPSS 22.
RESULTADOS: A través de la aplicación de los exámenes auditivos a los conductores del Sindicato de Choferes Profesionales de la parroquia Baños, se demostró que el 25% de los conductores presentaron disminución auditiva en el oído derecho, manifestando el 16%, 7% y 2% para hipoacusia neurosensorial leve, moderada y severa respectivamente y el 44% en el oído izquierdo, manifestando hipoacusia neurosensorial leve (20%), moderada (15%) y severa (9%) , la edad en la que la pérdida auditiva era más significativa fue a partir de los 41 años de edad con un 23% y los años que a los que eran más propensos de tener la pérdida auditiva fue en conductores que laboraban más de 15 años. |
