Frecuencia del segundo embarazo adolescente y características de pacientes atendidas en el departamento de obstetricia del Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso mayo 2017- febrero 2018

Abstract

Background: The second pregnancy in adolescents is a public health problem already known and little studied. The associated characteristics allow us an idea of the population, to elaborate plans and public policies Objective:To identify the frequency of second pregnancy and characteristics of patients seen in the department of obstetrics of the Hospital Vicente Corral Moscoso in the period May 2017 - February 2018. Methodology: A descriptive study was carried out. The sample with a power of 5% and a confidence level of 95% is 174 medical records. The instrument was designed by the researchers. For the analysis it uses the SPSS program, the results are presented in percentages with measures of central tendency and tables. Results: 39.7% of adolescents were 19 years old, 62.1% resided in the urban area, the free union represented 64.94%, 94.3% did not work, 75.9% studied secondary school, 39.1% had their first pregnancy at 16 years, 46.6% intergenésic presentation of 2 years, 58% reported knowledge about contraceptive methods, 75.3% did not use them, 40.2% began their sex life at age 15 84.5% did not want pregnancy and 100% did not report violence. Conclusion: The second adolescent pregnancy occurs in a greater percentage of 18 years and 19 years, urban area and free union, with secondary studies. Start of sexual intercourse was 15 years, and the first pregnancy was at 16, with an intergenic period of 2 years. Most have knowledge about contraceptive methods, but do not use them.
