Propuesta de intervención arquitectónica en una edificación patrimonial del sector rural: caso Hacienda Zhuracpamba de la parroquia Susudel

Abstract

The prevalence of the vernacular architecture in the landscape of our country and the world in general, has been threatened since it is not considered an architecture with a significant value; this has been changing over time, opening the possibilities to more modest buildings to preserve their value and integrity.

The present study focuses first on the development of a restoration methodology, which is applicable for all that vernacular building that wants to intervene. The methodology aims to be complete and simple in order to optimize the work and ensure a satisfactory result with good technical bases.

The proposed methodology will be put into practice in a vernacular heritage building located in susudel, azuay, ecuador. This traditional house shows to the naked eye the traditional techniques applied in it: raw mud, local stone and tile roof; and also includes architectural elements with a relevant aesthetic and historical richness.

In addition to its tangible heritage this hacienda has an important intangible heritage because it is a place where ancestral medicine is practiced through rites and healing ceremonies, its custodian is mr. Alejandro valdivieso. Thus, throughout the year they receive national and international visits to be part of these ceremonial activities. For all the above, the application of the methodology in this hacienda is fundamental to maintain the tangible and intangible heritage documented and ready for further investigations.
