| Abstract: | Beyebach (2009) mentions that if the divorce is not resolved properly it can affect all the family members including the children. The purpose of this study is to determine the prevalence of behavioral problems in children of divorced parents. A quantitative study was carried out, with a transversal design and a descriptive scope; with a population of 19 children and 20 girls between 5 and 11 years old, students of the Educational Unit "Julio María Matovelle" of the city of Cuenca, where it was evaluated by the Spanish version of the Eyberg Behavioral Child Inventory (EBCI), called Inventory of Eyberg for the Behavior of the Child (IECN), different behavioral categories such as: anxiety, aggressiveness, negativity and / or opposition, attention deficit, sleep problems and eating problems. The results found in the study participants show: a) that children have a medium prevalence of behavioral problems; b) the predominant category of behavior are eating problems, followed by anxiety and negativity or opposition, third attention deficit, fourth aggression and finally, problems sleeping, and c) behavioral problems are present in more girls than boys, although, there is no significant difference |
| Description: | Beyebach (2009) menciona que si el divorcio no se resuelve adecuadamente puede afectar a todos los integrantes de la familia incluyendo los hijos. El presente estudio tiene como propósito determinar la prevalencia de problemas conductuales en hijos de padres divorciados. Se llevó a cabo un estudio cuantitativo, de diseño transversal y de alcance descriptivo; con una población de 19 niños y 20 niñas de entre 5 a 11 años, estudiantes de la Unidad Educativa “Julio María Matovelle” de la ciudad de Cuenca, donde se evaluó mediante la versión española del Eyberg Behavioral Child Inventory (EBCI), denominado Inventario de Eyberg para el Comportamiento del Niño (IECN), distintas categorías conductuales como: ansiedad, agresividad, negatividad y/u oposición, déficit de atención, problemas para dormir y problemas para comer. Los resultados encontrados en los participantes del estudio evidencian: a) que los niños presentan una prevalencia media de problemas conductuales; b) la categoría predominante de conducta son los problemas para comer, seguidos a la par de ansiedad y negatividad u oposición, en tercer lugar déficit de atención, en cuarto lugar agresividad y por último, problemas para dormir, y c) que los problemas conductuales están presentes en más niñas que niños, aunque, no existe una diferencia significativa. |
