Percepciones sobre el inicio de relaciones sexuales y consumo de alcohol y drogas en adolescentes escolarizados que no han iniciado vida sexual en el cantón Gualaceo 2016

Abstract

BACKGROUND. Adolescence constitutes a period of life characterized by a special vulnerability in terms of sexuality, adolescents during their psychological development experience an often-unstable perception of their self-image, with a frequently negative evaluation, with tendency towards opposition, to impulsivity and the sensation of omnipotence (1,2). GENERAL OBJECTIVE. - To identify the perception of non-sexually active adolescents about the characteristics of the beginning of relationships and the consumption of alcohol and drugs in Canton Gualaceo. METHODOLOGY. - A quantitative descriptive study was carried out, with 1114 students aged 12 to 19 years of schools in Canton Gualaceo, who have not yet had sex. A survey of the CERCA project was applied. For the data processing SPSS 19 was used, with simple tables and descriptive statistics. RESULTS: The sample consisted of 1114 students, of whom 54.1% were women. 37.6% of adolescents report that it is difficult to have sex. 58.7% reported not feeling pressured to have sex and 58.3% reported having no sexual experiences. 73.7% would not have sex without being in love. 69.5% believe that it is not necessary to have sex to maintain a relationship. About 50% of students find it difficult or very difficult to resist smoking, using drugs or drinking alcohol. 53.9% do not consume liquor. CONCLUSIONS: students respondents have their own ethic sex, but still have little resistance habits toxic, as alcohol and tobacco, so they become a group vulnerable to follow up on your behavior future.
