Propuesta de diseño del vestíbulo de las artes en el Campus Yanuncay de la Universidad de Cuenca

Abstract

This work is an institutional design proposal for the Yanuncay Campus lobby, a fundamental space that stands out as the first view for the university community and gene¬ral public. This project will attempt to create an appropriate environment for interaction and socialization, thus consti¬tuting a reflection of artistic expression and creativity. To develop the proposal, a diagnosis of the area of study was fulfilled, based on an analysis of the current situation, investigation, and observation. Besides, the users of the lobby were given a survey whose results determined that this entrance hall must be a multifunctional space where students can consolidate their learning and generate ex¬pressions related to the different fields of art. Therefore, the present design considers functional, for¬mal, and aesthetic aspects through spatial organization. This includes creating harmonic environments by means of adequate illumination and furniture distribution where the university community can interrelate, socialize and carry out exhibitions, performances, and other artistic and cul-tural activities coherent with the goals of an artistic edu¬cation faculty. All these aspects will be evidenced through this design proposal.
