Abstract: | In the present work, arrangements were made for two classical guitars, of themes of rock bands belonging to the Cuenca City, selected on base on the social problems that the country experienced in the nineties, period marked by political-social instability due to anti-popular measures of the regimes of turn, which generated different manifestations against the system. One of the expressions of the time was reflected in groups such as Basca and Sobrepeso, which used the music to express against the policies put in place. For example, Basca in its song Hijos de makes a criticism for the presence of abandoned children in the streets. In the song Almas de la oscuridad, it is manifested by the lack of economic resources and help to people living in a begging situation. In the same way, the Sobrepeso group, in his song End of Millennium, tells the beginning of a new millennium and the end of civil wars. In the song Adoquines de Poder, they criticize to the ex-president Abdalá Bucaram for the unusual way in which he lived while he was President of Ecuador; in the song Rabia Seca, they make a revelation about illicit enrichment and shows that Peruvian soldiers hired by the government were posing as members of the Sendero Luminoso insurgent group to assassinate the population and discredit the Maoist group. Finally, the song Explotar, talks about the cases remained unpunished by the disappearance of people (brothers Restrepo, Consuelo Benavides, among others). |
