Factores de riesgo que influyen en la depresión, ansiedad e ideas suicidas en reclusos, Azogues 2016

Abstract

BACKGROUND: Anxiety, depression and suicidal ideas have a great impact on the lives of individuals, the family and society as a whole. Between 1990 and 2013, worldwide, the number of people with depression or anxiety has increased by nearly 50%, from 416 million to 615 million and more than 800,000 people commit suicide every year. Being even more serious among people deprived of their freedom. OBJECTIVE: Determine the risk factors that influence depression, anxiety and suicidal ideas in inmates, Azogues 2016 METHODOLOGY: The present is a descriptive cross-sectional, quantitative investigation. The universe was 70 people deprived of their freedom. To collect the information an interview was applied, the Hamilton test for anxiety and depression was used, the Symptoms Questionnaire for Adolescents, Youth and Adults (SRQ) for suicidal ideas and the Risk Factor Identification Form. The data was tabulated on a digital basis and analyzed using the SPSS program, version 19. RESULTS: Of the 70 inmates 41.4% have severe anxiety, 34.28% moderate depression, 57.58% with suicidal ideas, of which the prevailing factors are at the individual level the solitude with 81.4%, at the family level the violence with 70% and at the social level abuse and use of alcohol with 81.4%. CONCLUSIONS: According to the data obtained in the investigation, we have come to the conclusion that the risk factors such as violence, loneliness and alcoholism prevail among inmates between 21 and 35 years of age, single marital status and without stable partners, who belong to families the same ones that influence inmates to present mood disorders such as anxiety, depression and suicidal ideas.
