Propuesta de potencialización de la Casa de la Provincia Azuay – Ecuador, como atractivo turístico cultural

Abstract

The present investigation consists about a proposal to potentiate the House of the Province as a cultural touristic attraction, this heritage place will be included into the touristic offer of the city. The research contains 4 chapters, which serve as support in the realization of the present work here below. The first chapter deals with the meaning of cultural and heritage tourism based on authors who define these concepts, affirming that the House of the Province is suitable for visitors who seek to know places that contain history and culture. The second chapter focuses on the historical context of the foundation and congregation of the Buen Pastor, the historical context of Ecuador (1870-1920), the situation of the church in the diocese of Cuenca, a brief account of the Community of the Buen Pastor world-wide, history of the parish of San Blas and the foundation of the Convent of the Buen Pastor in the city. The third chapter points out the methodological considerations for the creation of a tourist guide using the cultural interpretation and its importance to the moment of conducting tour guides fomenting the awareness of care, preservation and conservation of patrimonial assets, and finally the fourth chapter is the creation of a touristic script created on the basis of the information detailed above with the purpose that it serves as a tool for guides and cultural tourism and heritage in the House of the Province.
