Nivel de satisfacción familiar en estudiantes de bachillerato

Abstract

The present research had as an objective to determine the family level satisfaction of its High School students. In this study were participating 206 teenagers from 15 to 19 years old. They were in first, second and third years of General Unified Bachelor. The sample was 54% (111) of women and 46% of (95) men. All of them from the "Miguel Moreno Ordoñez" educational center which is located in Cuenca-Ecuador. This is a descriptive - quantitative approach research. The family satisfaction was identified using a Family Satisfaction Scale by Adjectives (known by its acronym in Spanish - ESFA) of Barraca and Lopez-Yarto (2010), to which were associated the following socio demographic variables: gender, age, members in sibling subsystem, birth order, work, income household, and house ownership. The study’s results show that in adolescents predominate a high level of family satisfaction followed also by a low level of it; which means that the perceptions of adolescents regarding to this matter were polarized. According to the socio demographic indicators, it was found that the majority of the participants in this study are middle children in the family order and that they only study and do not work, they also belong to families whose monthly income is below to $400.00, and finally, they live in urban areas in rented houses. After a final general analysis it was found that the majority of students presented a high level of satisfaction with their life in family and that in spite of well-known socio demographic factors relationship with the way of perceiving the family satisfaction, the study shows that it does not have a significant influence.
